Why Thrift Shopping?                        

I get that some people are freaked out by thrifting, but one of the best things about it is that you can find totally unique items. I hate walking down the street and seeing 5 people in the dress I bought from Target (no offense Target, I love you!), that NEVER happens when I wear something thrifted.

Where should I thrift shop?

Nowadays, there are tons of places. Some of my favorites are Volunteers of America and Goodwill. But more and more there are specialty shops popping up that are more like consignment stores that have AWESOME stuff. Warning: The prices at these stores will be higher.

What if I find something that doesn’t fit?                   

This can be the most frustrating part of thrifting, you find that awesome piece, and its not your size. It’s actually a big reason I started learning to sew, a lot of times a simple hem can completely change the look of an entire outfit.

What is your best tip for successful thrifting?

Patience.  It definitely takes a lot of time for a successful thrifting experience. Make a day of it – grab a coffee and a friend and hit the racks. Expect to spend some time there and I promise you won’t be able to leave empty handed!

Outfit: Work It Out (with YogaOutlet)

The email I received from YogaOutlet could not have come at a better time. Just a week before, I started getting back into exercise by watching Blogilates videos on Youtube. I'm by no means fat, but for my height (4'10"), I'm a bit overweight, so I want to get leaner and more toned. I started with two ab videos and was sore for four days afterwards. How did I not try Blogilates sooner? Cassey is so energetic and friendly and she actually makes me want to exercise!

Anyway, I wanted some new work out clothing for this new venture into Pilates and these pieces from YogaOutlet are perfect. This website makes clothing specifically for people who practice yoga and Pilates, so they know what they're doing; they work with the best brands and they want you to feel good in their clothing during and after your exercise.

So far I really like the clothes I picked from YogaOutlet. I chose the top because it's colorful, lightweight, stretchy, has a built-in bra and has a keyhole opening in the back. It lets me move around while keeping everything in place. I chose the pants because it has a purple waistband, its stretchy, has moisture-wicking qualities, and even has a secret pocket in the waistband. These yoga pants are so comfortable and soft that I even wear them around my apartment when I'm not exercising. They're a little long on me, but I don't mind. 

Just so you know this company also has outlets for people who swim, run, and surf!

She opened her first store in Arnot Mall in Horseheads, NY in 2007, where she sold all of her handmade jewelry. How Do You Describe Your Style?

I saw this post about having a signature style on Lauren Conrad's blog and it made me think about my own style. I definitely have a look that's all my own; I know what clothing and colors I like, and conversely what I would never put on my body, but it's still hard to define it. I know what my style is, but actually using words to spell it out was harder than I thought. 

Here's what I came up with:

1. Colorful (I love all colors, except for orange)
2. A dash of nerdy chic (this mostly applies to my love of glasses and cardigans)
3. Comfortable (jeans and flats are my jam)

Inspired By: Finding Mr. Destiny

Finding Mr. Destiny is a South Korean rom-com movie about Ji-woo, a young woman who is unable to forget her first love, who she met on a plane to India ten years ago. Since her father wants her to finally get over it, he takes her to Gi-joon, who just opened a First Love Agency, so he tries to find her first love for her. Along the way Ji-woo and Gi-joon bicker and fall in love. 

This movie is so adorable! I initially watched it because it was on Netflix and I was bored, but a week later it was still on my mind and I had to re-watch it! Yoo Gong, who plays Gi-joon is so cute! It's on Netflix, so go watch it now!

Ji-woo Seo

Ji-woo (Soo-jung Him) is a disheveled and foul-mouthed young theater director who is still in love with the man she met 10 years ago while traveling to and around India. Her inability to finish things means that her love life and career are at a standstill. 

For casual, spring look, wear a burgundy leather jacket, gray hooded sweater, graphic tee, jeans, and polka dot sneakers. Or instead go for a olive field jacket, red plaid top, jeans, bracelets, and coral sneakers. 

Gi-joon Han

Gi-joon (Yoo Gong) opens the First Love Agency after being fired from his travel agency for warning people about natural disasters. He's a naive, goofy young guy fixated on order and safety, but takes a risk by opening his own agency.

Mix prints by wearing a polka dot top under a gray sweater, printed jeans, black watch, and color-block flats. Or for a cute look, try a navy strip top over a mint button up, jeans, heart earrings, and mint oxfords. 

Ji-hye Seo & Jong-wook Kim

Ji-hye (Chung-ah Lee) is Ji-woo's younger sister, who thinks that Ji-woo is going to end up as an old maid because she doesn't dress up and flirt with guys. 

Jong-wook (in flashbacks also played by Yoo Gong) is a charming and mysterious young man who Ji-woo met on a plane to India 10 years ago. The two of them got to know each other while wandering around India.

Based on Ji-hye, wear a pretty orange dress, rhinestone hair clips, gold bangles, and orange and black heels. Or dress like Jong-wook: olive top, white tee, white distressed jeans, camera necklace, brown bracelets, and black Converse.
