Outfit: Work It Out (with YogaOutlet)

The email I received from YogaOutlet could not have come at a better time. Just a week before, I started getting back into exercise by watching Blogilates videos on Youtube. I'm by no means fat, but for my height (4'10"), I'm a bit overweight, so I want to get leaner and more toned. I started with two ab videos and was sore for four days afterwards. How did I not try Blogilates sooner? Cassey is so energetic and friendly and she actually makes me want to exercise!

Anyway, I wanted some new work out clothing for this new venture into Pilates and these pieces from YogaOutlet are perfect. This website makes clothing specifically for people who practice yoga and Pilates, so they know what they're doing; they work with the best brands and they want you to feel good in their clothing during and after your exercise.

So far I really like the clothes I picked from YogaOutlet. I chose the top because it's colorful, lightweight, stretchy, has a built-in bra and has a keyhole opening in the back. It lets me move around while keeping everything in place. I chose the pants because it has a purple waistband, its stretchy, has moisture-wicking qualities, and even has a secret pocket in the waistband. These yoga pants are so comfortable and soft that I even wear them around my apartment when I'm not exercising. They're a little long on me, but I don't mind.

Just so you know this company also has outlets for people who swim, run, and surf!

REVOLT Week 12

Wow, I've already blogged on a weekly basis for 12 weeks about REVOLT! Despite the fact that I myself haven't seen many changes, which is entirely due to the fact that I haven't exercised in the last month, I would still recommend REVOLT. The program is fun and challenging, but still doable, and you can tweak it to work for you since it's all online.

There's also an online community to keep you pumped up and on track. The videos change every month to keep things interesting, and there's a meal plan as well.

I really liked exercising using REVOLT, so I'm going to continue using the videos to get in shape. Now and then, I want to do some 5- to 8-minute minute Fitness Blender exercises because they have videos that target specific parts of the body.

Goal: Begin exercising again!

This Year: Continue to drink lots of water and eat small portions and feel good about myself!

Weight: 126

Have a great weekend!

REVOLT Week 11

So I still haven't started exercising again, even though the pain is almost entirely gone now (yay!). It's mostly just me being lazy and calling it a reward after finishing graduate school last week, but I've taken it to an extreme by pretty much only watching movies all day. Yikes! I really need to get my butt off the couch and start exercising!

Luckily, this week I drank a lot of water and ate much smaller portions than usual, so I guess it balances out.

Goal: Begin exercising again!

This Week: Continue to drink lots of water and eat small portions!

Weight: 126

REVOLT Week 10

I still haven't started exercising again. The pain has gone down considerably, but I'm wary of exercising and possibly restarting this pain that I had. I also haven't been in the mood to get my butt off the couch because of all the worry and the doctor visits. Instead of exercising, I've been drinking more water and eating smaller portions.

Goal: Snack less!

This Week: Drink water!

Weight: Forgot to weight myself.

REVOLT Week 9

I usually like to keep my blog a happy place, but I'm going to be honest and tell you all that the past week and a half have not been good. I didn't exercise at,  all because I started having a dull pain in my right side near my hip that turned into a sharp pain. I was of course very worried and I wasn't sure if it was something really serious or if it was due to over-exerting myself. It didn't feel like a typical muscle strain, so I thought it was something bad.

Luckily, the pain decreased after a few days, but I still made an appointment with a doctor. My doctor ruled out me having an ovarian cyst (which I thought it might be), and after getting a sonogram, appendicitis was also ruled out. Turns out everything is fine. My doctor thinks it was either due to me missing my last period or muscle strain or both. No big deal, but I just hope the pain doesn't return.

I didn't think I was exercising all that hard and most weeks I'd only exercised two or three times a week for 30-40 minutes. For a little while, I'm going to stick to the cardio and arm exercises, and put the leg exercises on hold until I'm sure everything is fine.

One good thing (sort of) is that when I'm nervous I can't eat, so I ate considerably less this week.

Goal: Exercise but don't over do it!

This Week: Drink water!

Weight: Forgot to weight myself.

REVOLT Week 8

I didn't have a chance to exercise this week, but I've been good about eating, considering Thanksgiving was two days ago. Smaller portions, only a bite of chocolate now and then, cups of water. So despite my lack of sweating it up, I'd still say it was a good week.

Goal: Exercise exercise exercise!!!

This Week: Remember to fill my water bottle more. Make the time to exercise.

Weight: Forgot to weight myself.

REVOLT Week 7

It's funny because when I finished my thesis, the first place I went when I decided I needed a little something was Subway. Before doing Revolt, I probably would've gone to Burger King (it's just so close to my apartment).  But I wanted something that was delicious and healthy.

Of course, then the next night my dad wanted to go to Nathan's because it was finally open after months of construction, but I got a grilled chicken sandwich (480 calories) and let my dad take several bites and only had a few fries. I did have a few bites of the cherry pie though.

Goal: Exercise four times this week instead of just two or three!

This Week: Remember to fill my water bottle more. Try not to gorge myself on food this Thanksgiving. Just a little gorging, but not a lot. ;)

Weight: 125

REVOLT Week 6

This week was much, much better! I exercised a few times (and could definitely feel it for a few days afterwards), drank lots of water, and snacked less (who can resist a KitKat all the time though?). I'm getting better at adding the workouts into my schedule since Revolt's exercises are only 15 to 20 minutes long. That's why it's easy to stack them and do two in one shot. Then I really feel the burn.

Goal: Exercise four times this week instead of just two or three!

This Week: This is gross, but I need to remember to wash my workout clothes more often. Luckily, I exercise at home where no one can smell me, but still. Gross.

Weight: Haven't weighed myself

Have a great Saturday!

REVOLT Week 5

This week was not a good one in terms of exercising. Yep, I didn't even exercise once this week, though all day Monday I was standing and moving boxes, so that has to count for something, right? But I'm not beating myself up about it. I had a lot of things to do this week and my mind was focused on homework and starting #NaNoWriMo. I got a lot done, just not exercising. I'm going to make sure next one is a better one.

Goal: Actually exercise!

This Week: I need to exercise even if I have somewhere to go afterwards. Unfortunately, when I exercise and got hot, my hair gets super frizzy, but who cares if it means I got in a workout, right?

Weight: 127

REVOLT Week 4

I didn't exercise as often as I should have this past week because of work, but when I did I made sure I really tried my hardest and only took breaks when I really needed one, and I ended up sweating a lot and feeling it the day after.

Today I thought I would show you what I wear when I exercise. I like to switch off between these two outfits.

Most of the time this is what I wear when I'm gettin' my sweat on. These bras are surprisingly good and keep everything up and out of the way when I'm moving around. I'm also in love with these compression cropped pants because they allow me to move without getting annoyed at excess fabric. Also, I love wearing bright colors when I exercise, even though I do it at home where no one can see me.

{Walmart bra, old Forever 21 yoga pants {similar}, Old Navy top}

At times I'll switch to the clothing above if I know I won't be moving around as much (aka doing arm or floor exercises) because otherwise I'll be constantly fixing my yoga pants to be comfortable. I still have to wear fun colors. You have to make something about exercising fun, right?

Goal: Exercise after work, even if I've been standing all day! Bring a bottle of water to work to help me reach my daily intake goal!

This Week: Laying out my exercise clothes on my bed helps to remind me that I need to exercise. And there's no excuse if my clothes are right there. My homework will still be there if I take 45 minutes to exercise.

Weight: 127 (up one pound from last week)

REVOLT Week 3

I did really good at the start of the week; did my exercises and drank lots of water, but I didn't do so well at the end of this week. I was busy and forgot to drink from my large bottle of water, but since today is the end of this week I'm going to do two or three of the exercises to make up for it. I got to sweat it up!

I wanted to show you what I wear when I exercise, but of course I forgot to take pictures. Next week I'll show you my exercise gear.

Goal: Exercise even when I don't want to! Power through it!

This Week: I need to keep my ice trays full, so I can have ice cold water (my favorite) and then I'll actually want to drink my water!

Weight: 126

REVOLT Week 2

I'm sure you all noticed that my blog was down for a few days. Unfortunately, there was a malware problem that caused me a lot of stress, but it's all been resolved and my blog is up and running again. Yay! Anyway, I hope you're all enjoying your weekend!

**In return for free access to the REVOLT program, I am blogging once a week. All opinions are my own.**
So I started the REVOLT program last week (check out week 1) and it seems to be going pretty well. My arms and legs were pretty sore at the beginning of the week, but it was a good sore. When I weighed myself on Thursday, I was 126 pounds, but it could be attributed to the fact that I was stressed and when I get stressed I can't eat, but I'm going to say that it was also Revolt doing it's magic.

The videos each day range from 15 to 20 minutes each and each week you get three videos: one cardio, one that targets your upper body, and one that targets your lower body. During the video it tells you to take a 30 second break or a 1 minute break, but I just blast on through because it means more sweat. Don't worry though, I do stop when I need to. Since the videos are on the shorter side, this week I did two a day since I had to skip Wednesday (for class) and Friday (went to the karate and yoga classes my dad teaches).

Goals: Keep drinking more water! Keep exercising!

This Week: I definitely didn't work as hard on my exercises as I did the first week, but this coming week I want that to change. I'm going to make sure I find the time to do the exercises. I also didn't eat as well this week, so I want to remedy that next week.

REVOLT Week 1

After being contacted by someone at REVOLT a few weeks ago, I decided to go ahead and try it. REVOLT is a way to lose weight online with online workouts, nutrition, and support. I'm currently doing the 28 Days of Sweat Challenge, which focuses on cardio and strength training, and it's kicking my butt in a good way!

I'm going to put it all out there and tell you that I'm almost 130 pounds, which really isn't a lot to most people, but considering I'm only 4'10" it is. I should be somewhere between 100 and 115 since I'm petite. I had been doing the Nike Training Club app and I really do like it, but I wanted something more, something to really make me sweat and really make me feel the burn afterwards.

Once you sign up and log in, you can download the Getting Started guide, watch a video to help you prep, and join the Facebook group. You can also download the meal plan and the workout plan. Further down the page, it goes by week, and each week a new workout video will be uploaded telling you which days to do it. It's all so easy and helpful and it makes exercising seem a lot easier.
OCT_WO_COVER
Just so you all know, I won't be doing the meal plan because I still live at home and my mom generally makes me lunch and dinner. Her food is always healthy and full of vegetables, so I'm all set. I really just have to make myself accountable and not eat at unhealthy places anymore or snack too much.

I would drink soda maybe once or twice a week, but I'm going to try and stop altogether and instead drink more water and tea. We're supposed to drink a gallon of water a day, but I don't think I could handle that. I have a 20oz FEED water bottle and my goal each day is to drink at least three whole bottles of water.

Goals: Obviously my goal is to lose weight, but I'm not actually sure how much I need to lose. I'm really just going to focus on what I look like rather than numbers since numbers won't mean anything if I start gaining muscle. I don't just want to be skinnier, I want to be stronger too. Although I don't want to be super muscle-y, I do want toned arms and legs. But right now my target areas are my stomach and my thighs.

This Week: I did all the videos for this past week! If I couldn't do it on the exact day (Wednesday I had school and didn't want to look like a sweaty mess), so I did it on Thursday along with Thursdays video. I can tell you right now that my arms and legs are definitely hurting. I'm walking weird because my calves are sore. I'm taking all this as a very good sign. I also drank A LOT of water.

Current Weight: 128.4

I'll let you know how it's going next week!
If you have any questions, feel free to ask!
