Inspired By: Wonder Woman

I literally CANNOT wait until Wonder Woman! While D.C. tends to disappoint wth their movies (sorry, I'm more a Marvel girl), I am so pumped for this movie! I really, really hope it does well in the box office so that we get more female-centric superhero movies and I hope that one of those is Kamala Kahn AKA Kamala Kahn. She's one of my favorites!

Wonder Woman opens in the U.S. on June 2nd, but I just had to share some outfits now because I was too excited to wait!

Diana Prince AKA Wonder Woman
Wonder Woman
Amazon princess Diana (Gal Gadot) is a strong and intelligent immortal warrior who finds Steve Trevor washed ashore the island of Themyscira. She travels to World War I London in order to help stop the war and fight evil.

For a subtle, updated version of Wonder Woman's classic outfit wear a green jacket, a red tank, embroidered black jeans, a brown bag, and metallic sneakers. Or for a decidedly Amazonian outfit put on a red, yellow, and blue jacket, metallic tank, ombre blue skirt, and gladiator sandals.

Steve Trevor
Steve Trevor
Steve (Chris Pine) is a captain in the U.S. Army Air Service who is rogue-ish and cynical but who is also charming. He enlists the help of Diana to stop World War I and finds that there's a lot more to her than meets the eye.

For a feminine take on his uniform, put on a green patched jacket, gray asymmetrical shirt, jeans, a newsboy cap, and navy lace-up boots. Or throw it back to 1917 with a gray jacket, a chambray shirt, map watch, green trousers, and gray sneakers.

Etta Candy
Etta Candy
Etta (Lucy Davis) is Steve's loyal, friendly, and comical secretary who immediately befriends Diana while she travels to London.

If black is your color throw on a black blazer, dress, wide brim hat, and lace-up boots with rose earrings, and a brown watch. Or wear a floral print dress, navy jacket, orange bag, and off white ankle-strap flats.

Are you looking forward to Wonder Woman?

Inspired By: Beauty and the Beast

Are you ready for Beauty and the Beast?! Because I am! I am SO READY! I can tell it's going to be amazing just based on the trailer. The costumes and set and inanimate characters have an incredible amount of detail. Just look at this picture of Cogsworth. And Emma Watson's voice is beautiful! I'm going to be that fool that smiles the whole time I'm watching it.

Who else is seeing it this weekend?

Belle
Beauty and the Beast -- Belle
Bookish and kind and clever Belle (Emma Watson) just wants to read her books and invent things (yep, in this movie she's the inventor!), but the townspeople think she's odd and Gaston is always trying to get her to marry him.

I took Belle's classic books and gave them a modern spin, so wear a open-shoulder blue dress, a drape-y blue cardigan, rose stud earrings, a rose-shaped purse, and taupe booties. Or for her most iconic look don a bright yellow dress, gold rose earrings, a sparkly headband, a Cogsworth bag, and metallic heels.

Beast
Beauty and the Beast -- Beast
Hidden away in the castle for a very long time, the Beast (Dan Stevens) is an angry young prince who needs to fall in love and have something fall in love with him in order to break the spell.

Wear these chic items while in your own castle or at work: wear a gray blazer, a floral print blouse, black jeans, a rose bracelet, and black heeled booties. Or throw on a blue blazer, a yellow peplum top, gray jeans, a white watch, a pretty mirror, and navy Oxford flats.

Gaston
Beauty and the Beast -- Gaston
My what a guy, that Gaston! Arrogant and vain, Gaston (Luke Evans) is a former soldier turned hunter, who wants to marry Belle, and later when he learns of the Beast he wants to hunt him down and kill him.

Be sure to wear Gaston's favorite color: red, of course. Throw on a taupe blouse, a dark red vest, jeans, arrow earrings, and tall brown boots. Or wear a red blazer, a white top, khakis, rings, and red sneakers.

Cogsworth, Mrs. Potts, Lumiere & Plumette
Beauty and the Beast -- Friends
The cursed inhabitants of the castle (Ian McKellen, Emma Thompson, Ewan McGregor, and Gugu Mbatha-Raw) are trapped by this spell just as much as the Beast (but complain a lot less!), so they also want the curse to be broken.

The range of metallic in the castle are gorgeous, so put on a striped tank top, a brocade skirt, a mirrored phone case, a gold rose ring, and gold flats. Or wear an off-the-shoulder black top, metallic brocade pants, rose necklace, and red pointed flats.

Inspired By: Bakery in Brooklyn

I love a good light and fluffy movie, especially when it involves a cute bakery, comedy, family drama, cute boys, food fights, and baked goods!

Bakery in Brooklyn is about Vivien and Chloe, two cousins who have been inseparable since they were little, but that changes when they both inherit their dead aunt's boulangerie named Isabelle's. Both girls have differing ideas of what to do with the bakery: Vivien wants to keep it traditional and Chloe wants to add a modern spin. But then the bank says the bakery is in danger of being foreclosed, so they have to put their differences aside to keep Isabelle's open.

The movie opens tomorrow in limited theaters.

Vivien
Bakery in Brooklyn -- Vivien

Vivien (Aimee Teegarden) was about to go on her dream trip to Europe when she found out about her aunt Isabelle's passing, so she decides to stay and help keep the bakery open. But she wants the shop to remain traditional since it's been that way for years. The bank sends Paul to tell her the bad news about the foreclosure, but she starts to fall for him.

Hang out in Brooklyn while wearing a black blazer, gray dress, purple scarf, sunglasses, and beige booties. Or bake in style by putting in a floral and striped top, black jeans, cute printed apron, cupcake necklace, and burgundy booties.

Chloe
Bakery in Brooklyn -- Chloe
Chloe (Krysta Rodriguez) works as an assistant to Fernando, who is on a popular daytime cooking show, but she also goes to help at Isabelle's in order to keep it open. She wants to add some new flavor to the bakery to make it more modern.

Keep it cool and casual in a gray button up, jeans, pointed toe flats, and ruffly apron. Or make delicious baked goods in a green tee, distressed jeans, hat, cupcake phone case, and black booties.

Paul & Fernando
Bakery in Brooklyn -- Paul & Fernando
Paul (Ward Horton) works for the bank and has to deliver the bad news to Vivien and Chloe that the bakery is in foreclosure. He starts to fall for Vivien and wants her shop to remain open. Wear a mix of professional and casual by donning a blue blazer, striped tee, jeans, watch, and gray sneakers.

Fernando (Aitor Luna) is a chef on a popular cooking show and thinks that Chloe should add a modern spin to the bakery. He begins to have feelings for Chloe. Dress like a super cool chef by wearing a quilted black jacket, a black tee, jeans, a "Will cook for wine" apron, heart earrings, and booties.

Inspired By: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

IT'S HERE! I'm so excited for this new Star Wars movie! This past weekend they showed all of the previous Star Wars movies and you know I was watching. I event went to a Star Wars holiday party at a local comic books store last Saturday, so I am SO READY for this movie.

Rogue One is a prequel to the original trilogy. At the beginning of A New Hope, Leia has the plans for the Death Star, but how did she get them? That's where this movie comes in. The Rebel Alliance recruits Jyn Erso to work with a team to steal the design schematics of the Empire's new superweapon, the Death Star.

Jyn Erso
Rogue One -- Jyn Erso

Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones) is a tough, reckless, and rebellious young woman with a record, including forgery, stealing, and assault. She is distant from her scientist father, Galen Erso (Mads Mikkelsen), who works for the Empire. She's recruited by the good guys, the Rebel Alliance, to get the plans for the Death Star and I'm sure it's going to involve her father.

Fight bad guys and save the universe in a kick-ass outfit: a black sweater, vest, jeans, gray scarf, buckle booties, and fingerless gloves. Or instead in a black tunic, brown furry vest, distressed jeans, and lace-up boots.

Cassian Andor & K-2S0
Rogue One -- Cassian Andor & K-2S0
Cassian Andor (Diego Luna) is a quiet and reserved Rebel Alliance Intelligence officer. He has a network of contacts throughout the galaxy who keep him informed about the Empire's activities. Fight for what's right in a brown jacket, beige sweater, distressed olive jeans, and tall brown boots.

K-2S0 (voiced by Alan Tudyk) is a Galactic Empire droid, but this one was reprogrammed by Cassian to serve the Alliance. Become a cute droid by wearing a black ribbed dress, Death Star ring, striped leggings, tall thigh-high boots, and sunglasses.

Orson Krennic
Rogue One -- Orson Krennic
Orson Krennic (Ben Mendelsohn) is director of the Advanced Weapons Research for the Galactic Empire. He's responsible for the security of the Death Star and commands a squad of Death Troopers. He rescued Jyn Erso and her parents in the past, which is why her father works for Orson.

Rule the galaxy in chic black and white outfits: a white blazer, white blouse, black jeans, Galactic Empire stud earrings, and tall black boots. Or white blazer, printed dress, Darth Vader necklace, and black booties.

How Harry Potter Has Positively Affected My Life (AKA Why I Love It)

What with everyone diving back into the Wizarding World lately, it's only made my love for Harry Potter and J.K. Rowling's immense and incredible world stronger. From the Cursed Child book to the play to Fantastic Beasts movie to exciting news about castings and set pictures and whatnot, there's so much going on and it's made me so incredibly happy to be a Harry Potter fan!

But let's backtrack and go down memory lane: I can hardly belive it now, but my first enounter with Harry Potter was when my aunt got me the first four books in 2000. But since I wasn't much of a reader then, I just shrugged them off and let them sit on my shelf untouched. BUT THEN my dad somehow got early tickets to the movie and I remember seeing it with him and my two younger brothers in either late August or early September of 2001, I can't remember which now. I watched the movie in awe and came out a changed person. Honestly! It was like a switch had been flipped and I needed more of this wondrous magic in my life. I immediately read all of the books and then desperately waited for the 5th book to come out.

In 2005, again my life changed because of a friend and because of Harry Potter. In my junior year of high school, while standing around bored in gym a friend said she wrote fanfiction for The X-Files. It made me realize there might be Harry Potter fanfiction and boy was there ever. I dove deep into the world of fanfiction. Here were other people like me who longed for more of the Wizarding World. But the real change happened when I decided to write one of my own. I came up with a fun idea (Harry doesn't ask to be put in Gryffindor and ends up in Slytherin) and started writing and I haven't stopped since. I wrote Harry Potter fanfiction into my second year of college, but stopped when I decided to focus on my own stories. (This is one of the reasons I love Rainbow Rowell's Fangirl because it sounds just like my own life minus the cute romance!)

By the way, you can read my cringe-worthy fanfiction here haha!
I honestly don't know where I would be if it wasn't for Harry Potter. If I hadn't seen the first movie, read the books, gotten into fanfiction, and then started writing my own novels my life would look very, very different. When I think about it, I have no clue what my life would be like right now. I think it's also partly because of Harry Potter that I even started a blog because someone told me "a writer should have a blog." I never would've been called a writer if I hadn't gotten into fanfiction in the first place. It's so strange to think about!

Not only have these books encouraged my path in life, but they've also been there for me during difficult times. My paperback copy of Prisoner of Azkaban is falling apart because I've read it so much when I was stressed or angry or sad or just being a moody teenager. And I'll always turn to Harry Potter to get me through life's hard knocks because it's the best kind of escapism, because it makes you realize their there's always a way through your problems, and because J.K. Rowling has an encouraging quote for every situation

One of the best things about Harry Potter though is its fans! Connecting with other Potterheads in person with my best friends while at movie premieres or through fanfiction forums or now through social media helps to relive the magic every day. Us Harry Potter nerds are an awesome, welcoming, and fun bunch. It's fantastic that whenever you want to talk about the movies or a theory or just rave about how much you love the series there will ALWAYS be others there to encourage you
Also, they're just wonderful books and I wish I could live in the Wizarding World and do magic. Is that too much to ask for?!

How has Harry Potter changed your life?
If not HP, what books have impacted your life?

Inspired By: Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them

WHO ELSE IS EXCITED FOR FANTASTIC BEASTS?! Me too! I already have my tickets for tomorrow and I'm counting down the hours, minutes, and seconds until I can re-enter to Wizarding World! I know it's going to be fantastic and I can't wait! Who else is seeing it this weekend?

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is written by J.K. Rowling and follows wizard and magizoologist Newt Scamander, who accidentally lets out several magical creatures in New York City in 1926. While trying to round up the fantastic beasts, he makes friends and enemies, all while sinister things begin brewing in the Wizarding World.

Let me know if you want me to do another Fantastic Beasts post based on the evil characters!

ALSO, did you see my new blog logo?! I LOVE IT SO MUCH! It's by Jess at Bookworm by Design and if you need a logo or banner or anything you should definitely go to her!

Newt Scamander
Fantastic Beasts - Newt

Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) is a young, eccentric magizoologist (he studies magical creatures), who works for the Ministry of Magic. When somewhat dangerous creatures from his magical suitcase get out, he makes friends and enemies at the Magical Congress of the United States of America (aka MACUSA).

Go on wizarding adventures while wearing a teal jacket, a yellow top, gray pants, and brown booties. Or instead throw on a blue blazer, yellow dress, black scarf, and brown heeled booties.

Tina Goldstein
Fantastic Beasts - Tina
Porpentina "Tina" Goldstein (Katherine Waterston) is a down-to-earth Auror at the MACUSA, who befriends Newt and decides to help him search for the magical creatures to make New York City safe again.

Keep the Wizarding World safe while wearing a long gray cardigan, purple printed blouse, black velvet pants, and cute black heels (though it might be hard to run in these!). Or dance the night away in a gold sequin dress, gold earrings, and shiny black heels.

Jacob Kowalski
Fantastic Beasts - Jacob
Jacob Kowalski (Dan Fogler) is a newly-single No-Maj factory worker and aspiring baker, who ends up being introduced to the Wizarding community after he meets and befriends Newt. I'm guessing this is before the Statue of Secrecy haha!

Discover a whole new world of magic and wonder as you wear a black blazer, black printed blouse, pants, and shiny black oxford flats. Or wear a more casual outfit: a printed blouse, black vest, jeans, and brown oxfords. And a No-Maj mug!

Queenie Goldstein
Fantastic Beasts - Queenie
Queenie Goldstein (Alison Sudol) is Tina's free-spirited younger sister and roommate, who is skilled at Legilimency (aka extracting emotions and memories from another person).

Be fierce and have fun in a pink jacket, black velvet dress, pink beret, and pink booties. Or instead throw on a gold and silver sequin dress, a gold necklace, rose jewelry, and pink pointed heels.

Inspired By: Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children

I read Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children when it first came out and have loved it ever since. The story is wonderfully odd, there are creepy vintage photographs throughout the book, the peculiar children and their talents are strange but cool, and the wights are scary. It all makes for a very unusual and fun series. The fact that Tim Burton is directing the movie is PERFECT! I don't think anyone else could do it as well as he. Can you tell I'm excited for this movie?!

The book by Ransom Riggs and movie follow Jacob Portman, a 16-year-old boy from the U.S., who journeys to Wales with his father after the death of his grandfather. There, he discovers a crumbling building that was once Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children that his grandfather spoke of. The children and Miss Peregrine should be long dead, but Jacob has a feeling they're still very much alive.

The movie is coming out on September 30 in the U.S.

Jacob
Miss Peregrine -- Jacob

Jacob (Asa Butterfield) is trying to come to terms with the death of his grandfather and the nightmares that have come from seeing his death and possibly something else that was there that day, so his therapist suggests he take a trip to Wales to feel connected to his grandfather. He just wants to be normal, but he discovers that he's anything but.

Keep warm and dry but snuggling into a navy sweater, olive jacket, beige circle scarf, jeans, and brown lace-up boots. Or if you're journeying into a loop, throw on a striped top, distressed jeans, a marble watch, a striped backpack, and grey sneakers. You never know when you might have to do some running from some wights.

Emma
Miss Peregrine -- Emma
Emma (Ella Purnell) is a young woman who has been under the care of Miss Peregrine for a very long time. She and Jacob's grandfather used to write letters to each other, so when she meets Jacob and discovers who he is she's surprised and a bit hurt. In the book, Emma could control fire, but in the movie she can control the weather and must be tethered or she'd float away.

Reach for cool colors by wearing a printed white dress, a simple bow choker, a blue watch, and gray lace-up boots. Or instead reach for a light blue dress, a fire-y orange scarf, a black belt, and olive booties to mix up both iterations of her character.

Miss Peregrine
Miss Peregrine -- Miss Peregrine
Miss Peregrine (Eva Green) is the strong headmistress in charge of all of the peculiar children and the loop in which they live. She cares for her charges a lot and will do anything to keep them safe. She's a ymbryne, which means she can turn into a bird at will and controls the loop.

Miss Peregrine has a cool, dark style, so put on a long, black coat, a navy dress, bird-like earrings, and Victorian-style lace-up boots. Or for something a little more modern, throw on a leather moto jacket, a velvet and lace blue dress, and black heeled booties.

Have you read the books?
Will you be seeing the movie?

Inspired By: Suicide Squad

Ever since seeing the trailer months ago, I've been pumped for Suicide Squad. Bad guys doing what they do best (ie. being bad and killing people), awesome actors like Jared Leto, Viola Davis, Margot Robbie, and Will Smith, and tons of action and humor. Since there are a lot of characters on this team, I decided to create outfits for the awesome female bad asses!

Suicide Squad follows a bunch of villains who in return for teaming up to take down other bad guys they'll get some time off of their sentences. But can they really work together when they're the villains?

Harley Quinn
Harley Quinn

Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie) used to go by Harleen Quinzel, a former psychiatrist until she fell in love with the Joker while studying him. Now she's one of the most manipulative people on the team and she's crazy and still in love with the Joker.

Wear a cheeky (but less revealing) outfit based on Harley Quinn with a "Daddy" shirt, jean shorts, red lipstick, and striped wedges. Or for a more casual look put on a baseball tee, distressed jeans, arrow ring, and yellow Converse.

Enchantress
Enchantress
June Moone (Cara Delevingne) is an archaeologist who is possessed by an ancient evil force that transforms her into a powerful sorceress. Moone is an adventure seeker and the Enchantress is a feral being.

Since you might want to wear a little bit more clothing than the Enchantress does (but kudos to you if you flaunt it), then wear a "wild and free" tank, a silver asymmetrical skirt, and strappy heels. Or instead put on a striped swing dress, a burgundy bandeau, and black sneakers.

Katana
Katana
Katana (Karen Fukuhara) is an expert martial artist and swordswoman with a moral code and is the bodyguard of Rick Flag, the group's government leader. She wields the Soultaker sword, which traps the souls of its victims and she can speak to them.

Kick some ass in a black leather jacket, a striped red and gray sweater, black jeans, and black wedge sneakers. Or wear a red romper, a black watch, and lace-up boots.

Will you be seeing the movie?
Which outfit is your favorite?

Inspired By: Recent Reads

I read these four books recently and really loved them! So, of course, I got the itch to make an everyday cosplay based on these titles and the incredible characters within. Not only are the covers fantastic (just look at that artwork!), but the stories swept me away.

I'm currently reading Six of Crows and hit 52 books read this year. What about you?

I Am Princess X
I Am Princess X
Written by Cherie Priest; Once upon a time, two best friends created a princess together. Libby drew the pictures, May wrote the tales, about their heroine, Princess X. Then a few years later, Libby was in a car crash and died. Now May is sixteen and walking when she sees a sticker with Princess X. But no one else knew about the character. So who's creating the webcomic? Is Libby not as dead she May thought?

Literally just finished this book and it was so good that I read it in 24 hours! Princess X is the butt-kicking heroine that May and Libby created; dress like her by wearing a bright pink dress with a blue floral crown, and red Converse. Or dress like May by throwing on a striped cat shirt, jeans, rings, and lace-up boots.

But he demands a terrible price for his help: one young woman handed over to serve him for ten years. She believes he will take her beautiful friend Kasia, but But Agnieszka fears the wrong things. For when the Dragon comes, it is not Kasia he will choose.

I didn't love Uprooted as much as I would've wanted, but it was still an enjoyable and magical read. {Read my review.} Get inspired by Agnieszka and put on a simple blue dress with a black cardigan, rose ring, and yellow flats to do your own magic. Or dress like Kasia by putting on a brown dress and wooden jewelry (get it?) and metallic sandals.

This graphic novel is so awesome! It's great for anyone who likes humor, adventure, magic, and feminism {Read my review.} Because the Rat Queens are total hipsters: wear a "Normal is Borning" tank, emoji skirt, skull ring, and black booties. Or instead put on a burgundy romper, bangles, and blue espadrilles.

A Study in Charlotte
A Study in Charlotte
Written by Brittany Cavallaro; The last thing Jamie Watson wants is to attend Sherringford, but that’s not the only complication: Sherringford is also home to Charlotte Holmes, the famous detective’s great-great-great-granddaughter, who inherited Sherlock’s genius and volatile temperament. The other complication is when a student dies under suspicious circumstances and it seems like Jamie and Charlotte are the suspects. Can they solve the case?

Anyone who likes Sherlock Holmes, whether it's the movies or the TV shows or the books, should read this first book in a new series. {Read my review.} Go for a Charlotte-inspired look by donning a red blazer, black dress, black oxfords, and watch. Or go for a more simple look based on Jamie: a navy sweater, jeans, and blue Converse.

Inspired By: Me Before You

Me Before You, written by Jojo Moyes, is about Louisa Clark, who loses her job at a cafe. She decides to take a job being a caretaker for Will Traynor, a man who lost his desire to live after a motorcycle accident that left him paralyzed. Louisa's positive and colorful view of life begins to change Will's life for the better.

I don't usually like reading books that are heavy and heartbreaking, but once I saw the trailer earlier this year I knew I had to read it. I listened to the audiobook and loved it. This book is beautiful, thought-provoking, emotional, heart-rending, and bittersweet. I can't wait to see this movie, but I'll definitely be bringing tissues!

Louisa Clark
Louisa -- Me Before You

Louisa (Emilia Clarke) is a happy-go-lucky and upbeat person and that's reflected in her bright and bold outfits. Her whole wardrobe is seriously so adorable and colorful and I would raid it in a heartbeat!

She wears the cutest vacation look: a striped top, a red necktie, a cityscape skirt, yellow and gray striped sneakers (for a subtle way to wear Louisa's favorite stockings). Or throw on a red dress and red heels for a fancy night out.

Will Traynor
Will -- Me Before You
Will (Sam Claflin) is a rich, young man who had everything going for him: a great job, a great girlfriend, a great life, but it all ended when he got into an accident. Now he's paralyzed and hates his life, but Louisa is about to make it brighter.

Going to a party? Put on a white dress, a black blazer, black T-strap heels, and a bow bracelet. Or wear a gray cardigan, blue ruffled top, white jeans, and striped loafers.

Katrina Clark
Katrina -- Me Before You
Katrina (Jenna Coleman), or Treena for short, is Louisa's younger sister, who is highly intelligent and is a single mother with a cute baby boy. She helps Louisa come up with ideas for how to open Will up to new experiences.

Being a mom means being comfortable, so throw on a gray tee, black jeans, a wrap bracelet, and red flats. Or instead put on an olive jacket, an orange blouse, jeans, and brown booties.

Inspired By: Alice Through The Looking Glass

I'm am SO pumped for Alice Through the Looking Glass! The first movie is so over-the-top and whimsical and nonsensical, which is why I'm thrilled they made a second film. I can't say no to anything with Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter. I love that they always play awesomely crazy characters.

Alice has spent the past three years following in her father's footsteps and sailing the high seas. After returning to London from Asia, Alice re-encounters the Caterpillar and she finds a magical looking glass that returns her to Wonderland. She discovers that things are going very wrong with the Hatter, who is haunted by past events. In order to prevent a heartbreaking end to her friend, she turns to Time himself.

The movie comes out in theatres in the U.S. next Friday.

Alice
Alice Through the Looking Glass -- Alice

The Mad Hatter
Alice Through the Looking Glass -- Mad Hatter
The Mad Hatter (Johnny Depp) is decidely more mad, but no one knows why because he refuses to say what caused it. Alice must race against time to save Hatter and all of her friends.

Go for a classic Hatter look: wear a green jacket, a blue blouse, black jeans, teacup ring, and beige booties. Or put on a red blazer, tea cup graphic tee, distressed denim, purple lipstick, and yellow flats.

Inspired By: Love & Friendship

Calling all Jane Austen lovers! Austen's work is always sassy, funny, quick-witted, and critical of society at the time, and Lady Susan is no different. Love & Friendship, based on Lady Susan, is set in the 1790s and the widowed Lady Susan Vernon seeks refuge with her in-laws as rumors about her private life circulate through society. While staying at the estate, Lady Susan decides to find herself and her daughter, Frederica, a husband.

The movie is out in theaters today in select theaters.

Lady Susan Vernon
Love & Friendship -- Lady Susan
Lady Susan (Kate Beckinsale) goes to her in-laws in order to secure a husband for her daughter and of course for herself since she became a widow at a young age.

Go for a modern meets Georgian look by wearing a blue floppy hat, an off-the-shoulder light blue dress, navy jacket, and floral wedges. Or instead wear a purple lace dress (or maxi dress!) with a colorful necklace, arrow bracelet, and black flats.

Alicia Johnson
Love & Friendship -- Alicia
Alicia (Chloe Sevingy) is an intimate friend of Lady Susan's to whom she confides all of her scheming and controversial relationships with men. Alicia herself is stuck in a marriage with a man she doesn't love.

Throw on a light blue cardigan, mustard yellow dress, pink bow headband, and cut-out blue flats. Or if you feel like being fancy, you can wear a black blazer, a white layered dress, and black booties.
