Lusting: Quirky Bags

After being gifted this lovely little lemon bag from Martie for my birthday (thanks, girl!), I've been obsessed with finding other cool quirky bags. I'm not sure how many unusual bags one needs, but seeing as I love owls I feel like I need an owl purse. I'm also loving the ladybug one and the ice cream bag. I mean, c'mon, how cool are these?!

Do you love quirky bags?
Do you have one or would get one?

Sponsor Spotlight: Four Thrillers To Keep You Up All Night

Llinos of The Lilac Linnet is sharing four thrillers to keep you up all night!
Four Thrillers
Hi everyone! Today I am here to share with you the books which I could not put down because we all love a thriller, right? What I'm looking for when I pick up a thriller is a read which will consume my mind and leave me gasping for more when I can finally drag my eyes away from it. These books did just that!

The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins

Surely you have heard of this book by now, and I would advise you to read it as soon as you can get your hands on a copy.

Rachel travels on a train past her old house every morning, and one day she spots a suspicious moment between her neighbours. When the woman goes missing, Rachel is catapulted into the investigation and the path of her ex-husband with devastating results.

Don't think about it, just read it. It's a book that climbed inside my head. It's definitely the book which I have been recommending more than any other this year.

Kiss Me First by Lottie Moggach

Leila is a naive girl who lives a very isolated life following the death of her mother. Most of her contact with the world happens online on a website forum called Red Pill, and the owner asks her to become complicit in the suicide of the vibrant and beautiful Tess, by impersonating her online after her death.

I didn't expect to love this book so much, but I was drawn into the complicated and intense relationship between these two such different women. It raises questions about our online personas and our view of suicide. It may be uncomfortable in places but it really jolts you into challenging your thoughts on some tough issues.

No Time For Goodbye by Linwood Barclay

When Cynthia was 14 years old, her parents and brother disappeared without a trace, and she has always wondered if her actions of that evening, of staying out late with an unsuitable boy, are to blame. Now a wife and mother herself, Cynthia's husband Terry is the narrator of this exploration into what happened all those years ago.

What is haunting about this novel is that we see events through Cynthia's husband's eyes and not Cynthia's, and can only watch helplessly as Terry is forced to ask, did Cynthia have anything to do with the events of that dreadful night? Can their marriage survive when they are both doubting the other? A compulsive read for sure.

Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier

Our unnamed narrator marries the master of Manderley, but when she becomes its mistress she soon discovers that everyone is obsessed with his previous wife Rebecca. How can she compete with this beautiful, dead paragon of femininity?

This book started off quite slowly, but it soon ramped up as the forbidding housekeeper Mrs Danvers threatens the narrator, and the true events which led up to the death of Rebecca are ominously revealed....Spooky and atmospheric, Rebecca will draw you into her web as well.

Do you have any thrillers to recommend?

Inspired By: Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt

Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt is a Netflix show that came out in March. I've only seen the first episode, but it's hilarious and I've heard it only gets better. This show was created by Tina Fey, so if you liked 30 Rock and ridiculous people and scenarios you're probably going to like this, too.

Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt is about a positive woman who was kidnapped as a teenager to be a part of a doomsday cult. After 15 years, she's rescued and decides to start a new life in New York City, which takes some adjusting because the world has changed drastically. Despite her struggles, she's optimistic about life.

Kimmy
Kimmy Schmidt

Kimmy Schmidt (Ellie Kemper) is rescued from a doomsday cult and starts a new life in New York City. She shares an apartment with Titus and becomes a nanny for a socialite's children. She's always happy and positive and it's apparent in her bright clothing.

Put on a bright yellow cardigan, a printed blue top, pink jeans, pink hightops, a brown backpack, and smiley face earrings. Or wear something a little more subdued: a fuschia dress, light pink cardigan, feather hair pin, gold watch, and T-strap black wedges.

Titus
Titus
Titus (Tituss Burgess) is Kimmy's roommate in New York City. He's a flamboyantly gay, aspiring Broadway performer, who has auditioned for The Lion King 29 times. His day job is dressing up as Iron Man in Times Square.

Go crazy with your outfit by wearing a lip-print blue dress, gold bow belt, gold earrings, a donut bag, and blue heels. Or for lounging at home wear an oatmeal-colored cardigan, a graphic tank, jeans, and strappy pink flats.

Jacqueline
Jacqueline
Jacqueline (Jane Krakowski) is a wealthy and insecure Manhattan socialite with two children, a bratty teenage girl and a boy who keeps getting in trouble. She hires Kimmy to be a nanny and take care of her kids.

Throw on something fancy, like this floral printed white dress, white earrings, red nail polish, and black wedges. Or put on a white blazer, a black dress, a pink necklace, a black satchel, and strappy black heels.

Have you seen this show?
Who's your favorite character?

July Wishlist

No matter how many books I have, I always want more, specifically Canterbury Classics novels because they have cool rubber covers. I have Pride and Prejudice and just ordered Persuasion because I discovered that Book Depository carries them (hooray!). What is not on this wishlist, but which I will no doubt be getting this month is the Harry Potter Funko Pop! When it comes in a few months, I also want to get the Mulan Funk Pop.
July Wishlist
Wishlist:
Francesca's Embroidered Pouf -- I've always wanted one of these! One day!
Professional Bookworm Phone Case -- YES!
Unique Vintage's Owl Purse -- Adorable, right?
Modcloth's Floral Dress -- I have a skirt with the same print that I wear so much, so I feel like I should get this because I know I would wear it to death.
Modcloth's Floral Tank -- Can you tell I love florals?
Persuasion by Jane Austen -- Canterbury Classics have rubber covers, which makes them so cool!
Uprooted by Naomi Novik -- I've heard fantastic things about this book.
The Body Shop's Universal Shade Lipstick -- This lipstick adapts to your unique pH!

Outfit: Rebel

You know when you get a piece of clothing and you just don't know how to wear it? It seems obvious: it's a piece of clothing, you put it on your body, but I just didn't know what other pieces of clothing to pair it with. That is this top. When I saw it at Free People ages ago on deep sale, I immediately loved it (so much beautiful beading!), but wasn't sure how to wear it. I'm still not really sure it works here, so if you have any suggestions I'd love to hear them!

How cute is this "Rebel" cuff? Obviously, I'm a huge rebel (*sarcasm*) because I mix black with brown and gold with silver jewelry. Interesting tidbit: The moment after I finished taking these pictures, this bracelet broke. But because ban.do is awesome they're sending me another one free of charge.
Top: Free People | Jeans: American Eagle | Sandals: Kohls
Cuff: Ban.do | Black Ring: Brandy Melville
