One of my New Year's Resolutions was to wear more dresses since I always feel most comfortable in a shirt, cardigan, and jeans. I like the idea of dresses, but in the summertime my legs always feel so exposed and then in the winter I feel like it's too cold to wear dresses and skirts, even with thick tights. But I really, really want to get into the habit of wearing dresses and skirts more.
When I went to see Beauty and the Beast in 3D, I wore a blue dress and thick cableknit tights (with a cardigan, coat, and boots, of course). You can see a bit of the dress detailing here. I felt so proud of myself! Especially since it was freeze-your-ass-off cold that night.
Since I want to wear more dresses, I bought two new ones. A gray and burgandy-striped sweater dress on sale at Nordstrom, and a lacey bright red dress from Forever 21.
Here are some ways that I plan on wearing these dresses...
Sweater dress with black cableknit tights and boots.
JewelMint's Pomander Pendant necklace.
Forever 21 brown slouchy boots.
With pink and white oxford flats.
Lacey red dress with cableknit tights.
And heeled oxfords.
A more casual look for class with a blue button up and Converse.
The back of the dress (from Forever 21).
Ooh, I really like the red. :)
ReplyDeletelove these dresses! I know what you mean. I love dresses, but when I wear them I feel like i am too dressed up and people are looking at me and its annoying so i grab my jeans. I feel like I can't pull off dresses all the time. time to start being more clothes adventurous!
ReplyDeleteThanks! That's what I do too! I always want to wear a dress and lay it out, and then when it comes time to actually get dressed I just give up and wear jeans. lol
