Fashion Challenge: Dresses

One of my New Year's Resolutions was to wear more dresses since I always feel most comfortable in a shirt, cardigan, and jeans. I like the idea of dresses, but in the summertime my legs always feel so exposed and then in the winter I feel like it's too cold to wear dresses and skirts, even with thick tights. But I really, really want to get into the habit of wearing dresses and skirts more.

When I went to see Beauty and the Beast in 3D, I wore a blue dress and thick cableknit tights (with a cardigan, coat, and boots, of course). You can see a bit of the dress detailing here. I felt so proud of myself! Especially since it was freeze-your-ass-off cold that night.

Since I want to wear more dresses, I bought two new ones. A gray and burgandy-striped sweater dress on sale at Nordstrom, and a lacey bright red dress from Forever 21.

Here are some ways that I plan on wearing these dresses...

Sweater dress with black cableknit tights and boots.

Forever 21 brown slouchy boots.

With pink and white oxford flats.

Lacey red dress with cableknit tights.

A more casual look for class with a blue button up and Converse.

Beauty Challenge: Lipstick

I'm joining Moorea Seal and participating in her I Wear My Confidence: The Lipstick Challenge!
What a fantastic idea! I think it takes a lot of confidence to wear a bright lip color,
so I'm all for showing that I have confidence in myself,
even on days when I need a little bit more of it.
As the saying goes, fake it till you make it.

This is perfect for me since one of my resolutions was to find my perfect red shade,
which I have yet to find, so instead I've been wearing lots of pink lipstick.

Gifts for Literary Geeks

Books can be tough to buy for someone because you never really know if someone will take to a book in the same way that you did. One person's favorite taped-together-from-reading-it-too-many-times book is another person's crooked table fixer.

So what do you give someone who is a self-proclaimed literary geek besides books? Anything book-related is perfect really. Or the fail-proof giftcard to a bookstore, but I think that's cheating. I've compiled a list of gifts that any lit geek would love to receive.

I'm a lit geek, too. *wink, wink, nudge, nudge*
