Writing Inspiration

So I've been on a writing kick lately. I hadn't written for six months and then the past two weeks I've been writing almost every night for an hour to two hours straight (this is why I haven't been commenting on your blogs as much. sorry about that). It feels so good to write and I'm happy that what got me writing in the first place is a new story idea. I'm not sure whether it's a novel or a novella yet, but I'm just writing and enjoying the process.

Wow. How could I even describe my love for writing? Whenever I need to express myself, I always find that I write it down. Ever since I was little, I have kept journals that hold all of my thoughts. Along with writing down my feelings, I have always loved to write stories and create characters. I find it so incredible how authors can come up with amazing story lines and write them down. This may sound crazy but I actually do not mind writing essays, I love being able to share all of my thoughts.

Have a great weekend, friends!

Inspired By: Books Turned Movies

Fantastic books are being turned into fantastic movies this month! Not only am I looking forward to Cinderella, but I'm excited for Insurgent. That book was so intense, but I have a feeling the movie is going to be better. Serena also looks incredible, but I'll probably wait to see it on Netflix.

In the Heart of the Sea
In The Heart of the Sea

Written by Nathaniel Pilbrick, In The Heart of the Sea is the true tale that inspired Moby Dick. In 1820, a whaling ship is preyed upon by a sperm whale, which strands the crew at sea for 90 days thousands of miles from home.

Want to wear something 19th century-like? Don a white blouse, black jeans, brown lace-up boots, a whale ring, and a brown backpack. Or throw on something more modern: a raindrop clear umbrella, a whale t-shirt, distressed jeans, and raindrop print rain boots. (Release Date: March 13)

Insurgent
Insurgent
Written by Veronica Roth, Insurgent continues the story of Tris and Four, now fugitives being hunted by Jeanine, as they fight to stay alive, to stop the power-hungry Erudite elite, and make their world a better place.

Wear all black like the people that are in Dauntless: a loose tank top, jeans, a doubtle-strand necklace, a leather cuff, and black lace-up boots. Or put on an olive jacket, a green tunic, khaki pants, a brown watch, and green sneakers. (Release Date: March 20)

Serena
Serena
Written by Ron Rash, in North Carolina in the 1920s, George and Serena Pemberton are newly-weds who build a timber empire. The Pembertons refuse to let anyone stand in the way of their love and ambitions, but when Serena discovers George's hidden past, their marriage begins to crumble.

As the Queen of a timber empire, Serena wears classy attire, so don an open beige jacket, a red scalloped collar dress, gold bracelets, and nude wedges. Or wear a brown fur collar coat, a polka dot yellow dress, a silver ear cuff, and yellow cut-out flats. (Release Date: March 27)

Buy the book: B&N | Amazon | Goodreads

Have you read any of the books?
Will you be seeing any of these movies?

Quotes

Last month was pretty busy and I was hoping that October would be calmer, but of course it's an even busier month for me, both work-wise and personally. Lots of events and lots of things to do. I'm not complaining, but I'm not used to having such a full calendar. I feel like I'm constantly on the go.

Today I thought I would share some of my favorite quotes after Wild Hearts + Green Tea posted three of hers.

Words & Wisdom {Writing}

I need to do A LOT of writing this winter break (as mentioned here)! So far I only have 92 pages of my novel written and I'm still only in the beginning / almost middle of the story. I don't like talking about the plot too much, but it combines murder mystery, alternate history, and religion (and lack thereof).

I saved the following quotes and pictures so that I can feel inspired, and so that it will hopefully guilt me to write...

Wish me luck!

P.S. -- I saw this on Sidewalk Ready:

On Monday, December 24th at 5:00pm, please light a candle (or use a flameless battery-operated candle) for the victims and their families of Sandy Hook, Newtown, Connecticut and place it at the end of your driveway and it let burn through the night. As you do this, please reflect on what has happened, on your families and friends, and on what we cand o as a community to protect each other. This is not limited to one town, state, or even country. Please, wherever you are in the world, share this with your friends and participate. Your support is incredible.
