Outfit: Office Florals

Florals are an easy print for the weekend, but I love wearing it to the office as well! Large or small flowery prints on a dark background, like black or navy, is perfect for work. Matching the colors in the floral print to my shirt (or skirt or pants or shoes) makes me feel put-together and professional. I even matched my lipstick! #adulting

My bestie's wedding is THIS WEEKEND!!! I drove down to D.C. two weeks ago for Jacquie's bachelorette party and now I'm driving down again this Friday for the rehearsal dinner and of course the big day! We've been friends for twenty years, so I'm crazy excited for her! Love ya, Jax!

Outfit: Just & Loyal

Is it weird that this outfit feels VERY Hufflepuff-like? It's obviously got the yellow and black, but something about the added foresty green jacket and the loose top gives it that "just and loyal" feel. I mean, the Hufflepuff Common Room is super cozy with squishy chairs and has plants all over. Who wouldn't want to hang out there?

Sorry I've been a bad blogger lately! This has been the busiest month of my life between my friend's bachelorette party (and wedding in two weeks!), three work events in three weeks, and meeting an amazing guy, so I'm just enjoying life right now and blogging when I have the time and motivation.

Outfit: Pale Pink & Nutella Crepes

I should get an award for eating a Nutella crepe with ice cream and not getting anything on this dress! I can barely get food from my fork to my mouth, so this was a feat of the highest caliber. It's the reason why I hardly ever wear the color white. Hello Murphy's Law!

I wanted a lightweight, everyday dress that could be worn to work and on the weekends and this dress fits the bill. I don't have that much pink in my closet, so I saw this pale pink color and chose it over the black version. Plus I love  the cold-shoulder detail! And with a cardigan it instantly works for the office.

Outfit: Spring Stripes

I mentioned in Monday's post that I saw a screening of Before I Fall and if you're curious the movie is great! I binge-read the book the two days before the movie and the novel is really similar to the movie, so if you like close adaptations then you'll be happy about this one. The four main girls were wonderful, and Zoey Deutch is especially wonderful as Sam. This movie is the perfect balance of funny, romantic, heartbreaking, thought-provoking, and beautiful. It reminds you that you should make the most of your life.

I kid you not, I walked out of the theater and felt so happy I was alive. The world looked better, the sky bluer, the people nicer. I walked to the top of these cool steps that overlook the street near Lincoln Center and people watched for a little while. Since I had extra time before my train I decided to do something I hadn't done before and actually explore Grand Central. And then I went to a Harry Potter art show and got two amazing pieces of artwork. It was a fantastic day all around!

Outfit: Blue Stripes

After going through my closet two months ago, I decided to listen to some of the closet-cleaning blog posts I've read. These posts always mention putting clothes you're not sure you want to get rid into a bag and not looking at it for a few months. The goal of this is that if you don't think about the items within the bag after a month or two, then you should get rid of them. Any of the items you do miss, you can add them back into your closet. I got rid of all of the items except for one: this blue striped button up. It's a good way to "get rid of items" without getting rid of them because you just store them away for a month or two. Have you tried this method?

I have to say, it was so nice wearing a sheer blouse in the middle of winter! It was nearly 60 degrees last week and I loved it! We got a little taste of spring and then, of course, it was snatched away the next day by a blizzard. Thanks, Mother Nature.

Outfit: Galentine's Day + Giveaway!

Galentine's Day AND Valentine's Day is all about pink, red, and burgundy, so of course the best outfit has all three! I added some flair in the form of three cute brooches: a wooden bow, a red rose, and a pin with the silhouette of Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth. And no bookish outfit is complete without a Wizard of Oz book clutch, amiright?

On a totally random note: Is anyone else watching Riverdale? It's like a mix of Gossip Girl and Pretty Litle Liars and it's so intense and dark and melodramatic! My favorite thing is the awesome friendship between Betty and Veronica. Veronica is such a snarky bad ass and I love it. I've never read any Archie comics, but you don't need to watch this show.
