Outfit: Pretty Plaid

Lately, I've been shopping less at conventional stores and more on Poshmark. I could say that I'm doing it because it's good for the Earth since buying used clothing means that it's being "recycled," but really it's because it's cheaper. Most of the people selling on this app are just regular girls trying to get rid of clothes and make some money, though there are a few "shops" that sell new clothes too.

One new-to-me item I just got from Poshmark is this pretty plaid shirt! I like the exaggerated peplum, the colors, and how soft this shirt is. I'm convinced there's nothing better than wearing a soft shirt. It's like wearing a blanket all day! Do you shop on Poshmark?

Outfit: Blue Stripes

After going through my closet two months ago, I decided to listen to some of the closet-cleaning blog posts I've read. These posts always mention putting clothes you're not sure you want to get rid into a bag and not looking at it for a few months. The goal of this is that if you don't think about the items within the bag after a month or two, then you should get rid of them. Any of the items you do miss, you can add them back into your closet. I got rid of all of the items except for one: this blue striped button up. It's a good way to "get rid of items" without getting rid of them because you just store them away for a month or two. Have you tried this method?

I have to say, it was so nice wearing a sheer blouse in the middle of winter! It was nearly 60 degrees last week and I loved it! We got a little taste of spring and then, of course, it was snatched away the next day by a blizzard. Thanks, Mother Nature.

Outfit: Galentine's Day + Giveaway!

Galentine's Day AND Valentine's Day is all about pink, red, and burgundy, so of course the best outfit has all three! I added some flair in the form of three cute brooches: a wooden bow, a red rose, and a pin with the silhouette of Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth. And no bookish outfit is complete without a Wizard of Oz book clutch, amiright?

On a totally random note: Is anyone else watching Riverdale? It's like a mix of Gossip Girl and Pretty Litle Liars and it's so intense and dark and melodramatic! My favorite thing is the awesome friendship between Betty and Veronica. Veronica is such a snarky bad ass and I love it. I've never read any Archie comics, but you don't need to watch this show.

Outfit: Hufflepuff Colors

Showing off some Hufflepuff pride today! Shout out to my fellow Puffs! Yellow and black is not a color combination I wear very often mostly because I don't have that much yellow in my closet, but also because I don't want to look like the Cheerios bee. But when you add some gray and blue it becomes a little more wearable.

I think it's funny that from afar this hat kind of looks like a sports team hat, but then you come closer and -- BAM! -- you see that it's actually a Harry Potter beanie. I love it! Also, this hat is super warm, so that's a major plus right now. And you can't really tell, but I'm wearing Gryffindor socks. This is a very Hogwarts-y outfit!

Outfit: Peach & Polka Dots

An easy way to brighten your mood on a dreary winter day? Obviously, wear bright spring colors! I wear this top maybe a little too often, but I love the color, the polka dots, the peplum, and the comfy fit. Funnily enough, I hate the color orange, but peach is as close as I'll let myself get. Is there a color you never ever wear?

If you're looking for a pretty and inexpensive druzy ring, you should check out Bashful Owl's crushed crystal adjustable rings that are only $20. I came across it by accident on Etsy and had such a hard time choosing which crystal I wanted. I ended up getting lepidolite, a light purple crystal, and now I wear mine almost every day.

Outfit: Gothic

I feel like this dark, moody outfit is perfect for exploring Gothic castles. My sweater would swing a bit behind me as I walk and the stomping of my boots on the floor would reverberate off the walls. I think I've just always wanted to be Catherine Morland from Northanger Abbey exploring the cold corridors of a castle, hoping for a gruesome tale of woe. I think I read too much haha! Funnily enough, that's the same problem Catherine has in the book.

I don't know why I never thought to take pictures in the forest behind the parking lot I take pictures in. The trail in the last picture leads to a nature center that I used to frequent when I was younger, so I'll have to do some exploring for prime picture spots when it gets warmer.
