Do you have recurring dreams?

I'm pretty good at remembering my dreams from the night before and most are random (talking to people at work, driving, meeting faceless guys that I like and whom I wish were real, taking blog pictures, and manifestations of worries, like doing something wrong at work or being late for appointments), but over the years I've had a few recurring dreams. 

There are only three dreams that I've experienced two or three times. 

ONE | I'm at summer camp and I'm in the woods near these wooden cabins, but everything is underwater, as if that's perfectly normal. It's dark and silent and I'm hiding underneath something because I know that someone is coming after everyone at the camp. Once in the dream I was just hiding, but the second time I was pulled from underneath and tried to scream and then I woke up. 

What makes this dream strange is that I hardly ever have nightmares. I think this dream came about because I went to summer camp years ago when I was 11 or 12 and there was this rumor about someone killing people in the cabins in the woods. 

TWO | Ever since I went to Israel back in 2011, I've dreamed three times that I've been late for a flight back to Israel. In real life I like being prepared and pack days before I go somewhere, but in the dream the flight is hours away and I haven't packed yet and I'm a stressed out mess. One time I had this dream and I found out that I was going to Israel only the day before. 

THREE | The weirdest one of all: I jump off the ground and fly into the sky. It's late at night and I fly over New York City, admiring all of the lights. I land. I jump off the ground, but it's a little harder to do so. I fly. I land again. This time I can't jump up and fly anymore. 

I've had this dream two times now, but not for many years. Every time I have this dream, at first it's so easy to fly and I love it, but as the dream goes on it gets harder and harder to get my feet off the ground. Strange, right?

Outfit: Zuri Zuri by Flora + Giveaway!

I'm a little bit obsessed with school blazers. I think it stems from my childhood obsession with Harry Potter, but let's be real here, I'm still obsessed with Harry Potter. The students of Hogwarts never wear blazers -- they wear black robes and gray sweaters -- but since it takes place in England somehow it kind of morphed into me loving tailored blazers. They're polished, classic, and make me feel like I should be walking the halls of Oxford.

Zuri Zuri by Flora asked me to review an item and I of course picked this gray wool blazer. There are many things I like about it: the dark gray color with the black trim, the real pockets, it's well-made, and it's made of wool but not itchy at all. It's on the heavier side, so it's really warm. The only downside is that I have to roll the sleeves, but that's nothing new.

The clothing at Zuri Zuri by Flora is fashion-forward and trendy. I would call it one part classic and one part edgy. Perfect for the girl who likes to change things up and doesn't stick to just one style. And really that's almost everyone. Most of us like to try new styles now and then.

Review: Apparel Candy

**I was paid to review this website, but all opinions are my own.**

I'm going to assume that most of you don't buy from wholesale clothing websites. I never would've thought to shop from one too, but now I've changed my mind. At Apparel Candy, you can buy wholesale fashion clothes (basics and trendy pieces), sunglasses, make up, fragrances, and handbags for fantastic prices. 

The upside is that all of the items at Apparel Candy are super cheap! You can buy a navy sheath dress for a unit price of $8 and a pack of 6 for $48. You can get classic red lipstick for a unit price of $1 and a pack of 6 for $6. You can buy a studded clutch at a unit price / pack of 1 for $7.50.

The downside is that most of the time you have to purchase a pack of 4 or 6. I might like a dress and want to get an extra, but not 5 extras. However, you can turn that downside into something good: This is the perfect time to buy a pack of 6 lipsticks or nail polishes, or a 6-pack of cute sweaters. 

During the holidays, there are a lot of people we need to buy presents for and getting a 6-pack of English rose lipsticks would be a great stocking stuffer. If you have a lot of friends, aunts, and female cousins you have to buy for, getting clothing that works for a bunch of people would make buying presents really easy. Like these striped tops or floral kimonos or purple crochet panel sweaters.

So while I may not shop the clothing unless it's the holidays, I would shop the handbags since they come as a pack of 1 and the beauty since you can never have enough lipstick, right?

December Wishlist

Hanukkah starts next week! Cue the excitement and applause! The one thing I really, really want from this list is the camera case because I know I'll use it to keep my camera safe and secure while traveling, while exploring New York City, and while taking pictures around town. It's $50, so it's a bit more than I would like to spend, but I think I'm going to buy it because it looks really well-made and no one in my family would think to check my Etsy wishlist.

Since it's December and it's lightly snowed a few times already here in New York, I wanted to create outfits for "wintery" classic books; books that either take place in winter, or a cold climate, or have to do with nature. The only exception is The Awakening, which @fantine1 on Instagram requested. A Christmas Carol

Written by Charles Dickens, this novel is a well-known Christmas tale about the importance of family and friends, never giving up, and being a good person. It's about Ebenezer Scrooge, a business man, who calls Christmas a "humbug," doesn't give to charity, and refuses his nephew's dinner invitation. During the course of Christmas Eve, Scrooge is visited by four ghosts, who make him realize things about his life.

Go for a Victorian tomboy look in a tuxedo blazer, a loose white blouse, black pants, and brown oxfords. Or wear a white lace dress (for all of the ghosts that visit him), an open gray coat, a beaded belt, a gray watch, and lace up boots.

The Awakening

Written by Kate Chopin, The Awakening deals with women's roles as mothers and wives at the turn of the century (and is seen as a landmark work of early feminism). The book is about Edna, a wife and mother, who is vacationing with her husband on the Gulf of Mexico. Edna is unhappy in her marriage; she pursues love with another man and meets a woman whom Edna sees as an inspiration. 

Classic and chic: don a black dress, a beaded headband, a musical note ring (since the woman Edna meets is a recitalist), heart print tights, and black pumps. Or wear something free-flowing and free: a gold leaf headband, a bright orange dress, a broken heart ring, a sequin clutch, and nude flats.

Anna Karenina

Written by Leo Tolstoy, Anna Karenina is said to be one of the greatest Russian novels of all time. Set in 19th century Russia, it's about Anna, a married aristocrat, and her affair with Count Vronsky. Count Vronsky is eager to marry her, but first she would have to leave her husband, a government official. However, Anna is vulnerable to the pressures of society as a rich woman. 

It's cold in Russia, so wear a brown faux fur stole, an off-the-shoulder black dress, a ribbon and rhinestone necklace, a heart ring, and patent black heels. Or don a long gray coat, a dark red dress, a black faux fur stole, red studs, and black booties.

Walden

Written by Henry David Thoreau, Walden is Thoreau's autobiographical account of his time living isolated in nature. In 1845, he built himself a wooden hut near Walden Pond in Massachusetts and stayed there until 1847. This book chronicles his life living with the bare minimum and his thoughts on the ways of man, the government, and freedom. 

Be relaxed and comfortable: wear a green sweater, distressed jeans, a green necklace, a leaf ring, and floral sneakers. Or put on a blue and green plaid dress, a leaf necklace, black leggings, and heeled brown booties.
