It was very fall-like when I took these pictures. Nearby there were actually scattered leaves on the ground and it's making me long for cooler temperatures.
I bought a maxi dress last summer that I still have, but it's way too long for my 4'10" frame. Every time I went into a store and glanced at the maxi dresses available I held it up to my body and groaned because they were about five inches too long. I just really wanted a simple maxi dress that was close to my body but not too tight that made me look taller and wasn't crazy long. Is that too much to ask for?
Well, I went to Forever 21 to return a pair of jeans (bad idea, I know) and saw this dress by the door. I was hesitant, but tried it on anyway, and I'm so glad I did. It's maybe an inch or so too long, but if I tuck some of the fabric in at the waist (under my belt) it's perfect. Yay for fashion dreams coming true!

I feel your maxi dress pains ><; Being short is no fun when it comes to long clothing, haha. But this one looks lovely on you! Especially love all of the purple :)

DeleteSigh, it is always so hard to find a maxi when you're this petite! You really lucked out with one! The last time I was in F21 and tried on what I thought was a maxi dress...nope, turns out it was a skirt! But on me, it actually fit as a dress. Petite problems :)

What an awesome maxi! I love how you paired it with a scarf, that's been one of my favorite trends this summer.

DeleteI love your stretchy purple dress- the cut and the slit is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Cecylia!
DeleteI do not envy you being 4'10" - one of my best friends is your height and she's the only person who makes me feel tall; but our shopping trips are always such a frustrating excursion because everything is so long for both of us, especially her! I'm impressed you found a maxi that's almost the right length - but it looks amazing on you, especially the colour!

Yes, I definitely wish I was a little taller, but it has it's perks! Thanks!
DeleteThis is such an elegant look Sara. Totally love the way you are wearing it.
