Sponsor Spotlight: Jess of Bookworms in Dresses

Today Jess of Bookworms in Dresses is taking over my blog!
Hey there! It's Jess from Bookworms in Dresses! One my goals this year was to do more outfit posts, so why not make one a guest outfit post? I picked 4 fun books off my shelf and created outfits based off the covers (with a little inspiration from what was inside the book too!)

The True Meaning of Smekday was a book I grabbed out of the hidden bargain bin at Borders (when Borders was still a thing!) and I didn't regret it as much as I thought I would! It's about an alien invasion and it's completely crazy! It was a fun read though, even though it wasn't very deep or anything of the sort. The orange gave me the perfect chance to throw my new fuzzy orange cardigan into it, and the demon horns on my head for that supernatural effect as well! I also chose the big nerdy framed glasses because of the alien thing, and that's kind of nerdy right?

Cardigan: Forever 21 / Shirt: H&M / Jeans: American Eagle / Boots: Thrifted / Bag: Francesa's

Broken Harbor is a murder mystery by one of my recent favorite mystery writers! It's full of twists and turns, which is a must for an engaging mystery book! The book cover had blues and a bit of a nautical theme, so I catered to that...and it gave me a chance to rock some bright red lips! I should do that more!

Button up/shirt/jeans: American Eagle  / Shoes: thrifted

Mr. Penumbra's 24-Hour Bookstore is a personal favorite book of mine! I love the cover since it has my favorite color on it (yellow) so I couldn't stop myself from styling a outfit based off of it! It has interesting characters, mysteries, information about data systems, and more jammed inside and makes for a fun read!

jacket: H&M / shirt: thrifted / jeans: Express / shoes: gifted
watch: American Eagle / Clutch: Michael Kors

It's Kind of a Funny Story was made into a movie (that I wasn't aware of) but I read it quite a while ago. It made an impact on me back when I read it. It's about a boy who tries to kill himself and winds up in a mental ward, where he meets a young girl like him. It's kind of funny (see the title) and a little bit depressing as well, but overall it made me happy while reading it. I haven't seen the movie, so I can't comment on that! So I picked the lazy bun and a mis-matched outfit to kind of go with that theme.

Sweater: Forever 21 / jeans: Gap / shoes: Converse / hair bow: handmade

  10. Cool idea from Jess to make to shootings in front of the book shelves :) She looks beautiful and for sure not like a bookworm! And the last book I´ve already read - but in German language.

  11. Wow the cover of the last book seems quite the contrast to what the book is about but I guess that is what make it work.
