I read these four books recently and really loved them! So, of course, I got the itch to make an everyday cosplay based on these titles and the incredible characters within. Not only are the covers fantastic (just look at that artwork!), but the stories swept me away.
I'm currently reading Six of Crows and hit 52 books read this year. What about you?
I Am Princess X
Written by Cherie Priest; Once upon a time, two best friends created a princess together. Libby drew the pictures, May wrote the tales, about their heroine, Princess X. Then a few years later, Libby was in a car crash and died. Now May is sixteen and walking when she sees a sticker with Princess X. But no one else knew about the character. So who's creating the webcomic? Is Libby not as dead she May thought?
Literally just finished this book and it was so good that I read it in 24 hours! Princess X is the butt-kicking heroine that May and Libby created; dress like her by wearing a bright pink dress with a blue floral crown, and red Converse. Or dress like May by throwing on a striped cat shirt, jeans, rings, and lace-up boots.

Uprooted
Written by Naomi Novik; Agnieszka loves her valley home, but the corrupted Wood stands on the border, full of malevolent power, and its shadow lies over her life. Her people rely on the cold, driven wizard known only as the Dragon to keep its powers at bay. But he demands a terrible price for his help: one young woman handed over to serve him for ten years. She believes he will take her beautiful friend Kasia, but But Agnieszka fears the wrong things. For when the Dragon comes, it is not Kasia he will choose.
I didn't love Uprooted as much as I would've wanted, but it was still an enjoyable and magical read. {Read my review.} Get inspired by Agnieszka and put on a simple blue dress with a black cardigan, rose ring, and yellow flats to do your own magic. Or dress like Kasia by putting on a brown dress and wooden jewelry (get it?) and metallic sandals.

Rat Queens, Vol. 1: Sass & Sorcery
Written by Kurtis J. Wiebe and Roc Upchurch; Who are the Rat Queens? A pack of booze-guzzling, death-dealing battle maidens-for-hire, and they're in the business of killing all god's creatures for profit. It's a darkly comedic sass-and-sorcery series starring Hannah the Rockabilly Elven Mage, Violet the Hipster Dwarven Fighter, Dee the Atheist Human Cleric and Betty the Hippy Smidgen Thief.
This graphic novel is so awesome! It's great for anyone who likes humor, adventure, magic, and feminism {Read my review.} Because the Rat Queens are total hipsters: wear a "Normal is Borning" tank, emoji skirt, skull ring, and black booties. Or instead put on a burgundy romper, bangles, and blue espadrilles.

A Study in Charlotte
Written by Brittany Cavallaro; The last thing Jamie Watson wants is to attend Sherringford, but that’s not the only complication: Sherringford is also home to Charlotte Holmes, the famous detective’s great-great-great-granddaughter, who inherited Sherlock’s genius and volatile temperament. The other complication is when a student dies under suspicious circumstances and it seems like Jamie and Charlotte are the suspects. Can they solve the case?
Anyone who likes Sherlock Holmes, whether it's the movies or the TV shows or the books, should read this first book in a new series. {Read my review.} Go for a Charlotte-inspired look by donning a red blazer, black dress, black oxfords, and watch. Or go for a more simple look based on Jamie: a navy sweater, jeans, and blue Converse.
