If you like reading books about bad ass ladies then this post is for you! If you'd read Lumberjanes than this blog post title might sound a bit familiar because I just couldn't resist. I love a good book with a kiss-ass, flawed heroine who's always herself, uses her smarts and skills to solve problems, doesn't need a boy or girl to save her, and pretty much makes me want to be her.
These are all books that I've read and enjoyed and which feature one or more awesome girls. If you're not sure where to start, my favorites are Nimona, Cinder, A Study in Charlotte, Pride and Prejudice, Ms. Marvel, and Jane Steele. Have you read any of these books?
♥ Cinnamon and Gunpowder by Eli Brown (historical adventure, romance)
♥ Nimona by Noelle Stevenson (graphic novel, adventure, fantasy)
♥ Cinder by Marissa Meyer (young adult, fantasy, romance)
♥ The Winner's Curse by Marie Rutkoski (young adult romance, pseudo-historical)
♥ Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo (young adult, dark fantasy, adventure)
♥ A Study in Charlotte by Brittany Cavallaro (young adult, Sherlock Holmes retelling, romance)
♥ Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen (classic romance, comedy)
♥ Lumberjanes Vol. 1 by Noelle Stevenson, Grace Ellis, Shannon Watters & Brooke A. Allen (graphic novel, fantasy, adventure comedy)
♥ Ms. Marvel Vol. 1 by G. Willow Wilson and Adrian Alphona (graphic novel, superhero, adventure)
♥ This Savage Song by V.E. Schwab (young adult, dark urban fantasy)
♥ Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte (dark classic romance)
♥ Alive by Scott Sigler (young adult, sci-fi, thrilling adventure)
♥ The Archived by V.E. Schwab (young adult, dark fantasy)
♥ The Incredible Adventures of Cinnamon Girl by Melissa Keil (young adult, contemporary, romance)
♥ Jane Steele by Lyndsay Faye (Jane Eyre retelling, Gothic story, romance)
♥ Rat Queens Vol. 1 by Kurtis J. Wiebe and Roc Upchurch (graphic novel, fantasy adventure, comedy)
P.S. -- If you like Lumberjanes, you should check out the Lumberjanes x Gotham Academy crossover! It's delightful!
