Inspired By: March's Best Selling Book Covers

I haven't been doing much reading outside of workshopping my classmates' novels and reading for American Studies, though I've been skimming through A Storm of Swords, so it's fun to talk about other books for a change.

The Storyteller
Inspired By: The Storyteller Cover

Written by Jodi Picoult, this novel tells the story of Sage Singer, a baker who is trying to escape her mother's death. Josef Weber, an eldery man in Sage's support group, comes by the bakery and the two start a friendship. However, one day Josef reveals a shameful secret to Sage and asks her for a favor, but if she accepts she could moral and legal repercussions.

To dress like this pastel-colored cover, put on a pale purple dress, denim jacket, light blue flats, floral headband, and earrings in the shapes of a cupcake and teacup. Or wear a black and white shirt, floral jacket, purple jeans, and wedges.

A Week in Winter
Inspired By: A Week in Winter Cover
Written by Maeve Binchy, this novel follows Chicky Starr after she decides to turn an old mansion into a peaceful hotel by the sea in Stoneybridge, a small town in Ireland. Everyone thinks she's crazy, but she gets help from Rigger, a bad boy handy man, and Orla, her niece. When she opens Stone House, she welcomes an unusual array of guests.

Look like the cozy cover by wearing a gray top, green military vest, high-low ombre skirt, pretty blue jewels, and nude heels. Or wear a bright yellow sweater, ombre jeans, a layered necklace, moon ring, and brown flats.

Frost Burned
Inspired By: Frost Burned Cover
Written by Patricia Briggs, Frost Burned is the 7th novel in the Mercy Thompson series. In this book, Mercy's life has gone under a major change; she's now Adam Hauptman's mate, the Alpha of a local werewolf pack, and stepmother to Jesse, which brings some normalcy to her life. But one day neither Mercy nor Jesse can reach Adam; it turns out that the whole pack has been abducted.

To look like the bad ass cover, slip on a graphic tee with the phases of the moon, burgandy faux leather vest, black jeans, black booties, and tribal print bracelet. Or dress a little fancier by wearing a cool blazer, burgandy tee, distressed jeans, and high heeled booties.

The Chance
Inspired By: The Chance Cover
Written by Karen Kingsbury, this is a heartwarming story about childhood friends: the day before teenage Ellie moved from Georgia to California, she and her best friend Nolan wrote letters to each other and buried them in a rusty box beneath an ancient oak tree. The plan was to go back and unearth them eleven years later, but as the date approaches both find that their lives have drastically changed. But meeting again may help make sense of their personal struggles and find out if it's too late for another chance at love.

Dress like the cover by weearing shades of green: a mint cardigan, a white #heartthis tee, watercolor skirt, orange necklace, and bow nude pumps. Or wear a green tunic, forest green pants, ombre flats, and love letter necklace.
