Watch | Read | Listen {January 2015}

Happy New Year! It's 2015! I like the way this year sounds. 2015 sounds like a strong year, so I'm hoping that amazing things happen (ie. that I put the hard work in to make these amazing things happen). I'm starting the year on a fun note by traveling to Austin for my cousin's wedding. Follow my adventures in Austin via my Instagram

I probably won't be going to the movies this month even though the movies below do look interesting. Just not interesting enough to get my butt into a seat. (Anyone else get the line, "She is tolerable, but not handsome enough to tempt me" line suddenly stuck in their head?). I am however really looking forward to Fairest by Marissa Meyer and Title from Meghan Trainor.

MOVIES

Blackhat
A furloughed convict and ex-hacker Nicholas Hathaway (Chris Hemsworth) helps his American and Chinese partners as they hunt a cyber criminal from Chicago to Los Angeles to Hong Hong to Jakarta. (Watch the trailer.) (January 16)

Paddington
Based on the beloved novels, Paddington (voiced by Ben Whishaw) is a Peruvian bear who travels to London in search of a home. He's taken in by the kind Brown family (Hugh Bonneville and Sally Hawkins) and all is well until a taxidermist (Nicole Kidman) decides she wants to add him to her collection. (Watch the trailer.) I never read the book, but this looks adorable. I might end up seeing it with my little sister. (January 16)

Song One
In this romantic drama, Franny (Anne Hathaway) returns home when she learns that her brother is now in a coma. She uses her brother's notebook as a guide and seeks out the musicians he loved, particularly James Forester (Johnny Flynn), whom her brother adored. Soon something blossoms between them. (Watch the trailer.) I love Anne Hathaway and this looks really moving. (January 23)

Project Almanac
A brilliant high school student and his friends discover a mysterious device that lets them time travel, but it leads to them putting other people's lives in danger. (Watch the trailer.) Does this movie sound familiar? It used to be called Welcome to Yesterday and was supposed to come out earlier this year. I still really want to see it. (January 30)

  1. January always feels like a bit of a let down when it comes to movies at the cinema. They release so many big films in December every year, that when Jan roles round there isn't anything really to look forward to.

    I've been searching for some new books to read, 'The Darkest Part of the Forest' sounds like it could be good. Thanks for the recommendations! x
