Watch | Read | Listen {March 2014} + Sponsor: Bookworms in Dresses

Last month, I saw The Lego Movie with my little sister. Lately, it seems like I keep seeing movies that aren't on the list of films I want to see, but that's okay because I usually end up seeing them on Netflix anyway and that's much cheaper than going to the theater. But this month, I really really want to see The Grand Budapest Hotel and Divergent

MOVIES

The Grand Budapest Hotel
This film by Wes Anderson is about Gustave H (Ralph Fiennes), a legendery concierge at the famous Grand Budapest Hotel, and Zero Mustafa (Tony Revolori), the lobby boy. Gustave teams up with Zero to prove his innocence after he's been framed for murder. Also starring Edward Norton, F. Murray Abraham, Adrien Brody, Willem Defoe, Bill Murray, Saeirse Ronan, and more. Watch the trailer here. (March 7)

Mr. Peabody & Sherman
Using his genius invention, the WABAC machine, Mr. Peabody (voiced by Ty Burrell) and his adopted son Sherman (Max Charles) hurtle through time and meet history's greatest people. They go back in time to repair history after Sherman messed it up trying to impress a girl. This looks so fun; I'm definitely going to see this with my kid sister. (March 7)

Veronica Mars
A continuation from the TV series, this movie follows Veronica Mars (Kristen Bell), a former high school detective, who returns home to Neptune, California after her ex-boyfriend Logan Echolls (Jason Dohring) is accused of murder. I didn't watch the show when it aired, but now I'm obsessed! (March 14)

Bad Words
Jason Bateman is Guy Trillby, a guy who lost a spelling bee as a kid and so he finds a loophole to enter a spelling bee contest as an adult. I have to admit, this looks pretty funny. (March 14)

Divergent
Based on the bestselling book and set in a dystopian future, this movie is about Beatrice Prior (Shailene Woodley), who lives in a city divided into five factions. She's in Abnegation (selflessness), but after discovering she's Divergent, she makes the life-changing decision to become Dauntless (bravery). I NEED to see this! (March 21)

Noah
Biblical Noah (Russell Crowe) has a startling apocalyptic vision of the world and builds a massive boat in order to save his family (Jennfer Connelly, Emma Watson, Logan Leerman) from the coming flood. Personally, I'm not usually into biblical stories, but this one looks amazing. (March 28)

Other movies coming out in March:
  • 300: Rise of an Empire (March 7)
  • Enemy (March 14)
  • Need For Speed (March 14)
  • A Birder's Guide to Everything (March 21)
  • God's Not Dead (March 21)
BOOKS & MUSIC
Books & Movies -- March 2014
Panic by Lauren Oliver -- Heather decides to compete in panic, a game played by graduating seniors, where the stakes are high and the payoff is higher. She never thought of herself as fearless, but realizes she's braver than she thought, especially when she has something to fight for. (March 4)

Missing You by Harlan Coben -- In this thriller, NYPD detective Kat Donovan seeks her ex-fiance on a dating site, but when she reaches out to him her hope turns to suspicion and terror as a conspiracy comes to light. (March 18)

Raising Steam by Terry Pratchett -- Mister Simnel has created a great machine that uses the power of all the elements -- earth, air, fire, and water -- and it's drawing astonished crowds. No one is in charge of this new invention, but it falls to Moist von Lipwig, a man who hates hard labor, to do so. (March 18)

You Should Have Known by Jean Hanff Korelitz -- Just weeks before Grace's book comes out, which cautions women to hear what men are telling them, a terrible chain of very public events occur. (March 18)

Living in Style: Inspiration and Advice for Everyday Glamour by Rachel Zoe -- Rachel Zoe, known as a fixture in the fashion world, offers tips and advice by herself and her fellow fashion insiders. (March 25)
