Dedicated To You
Little bits and bobs
Added over time.
Movie stub.
Pressed flower.
Page from a book.
Newspaper clippings.
Key chains from around the
world.
You’ll never get to see these
things,
So I’ll bring them to this
space
That’s dedicated to you.

What a lovely poem! It's so short, but sometimes I think that's what makes a poem most poignant - when you can say what you mean with just a few lines :)
ReplyDeletexox,
Cee
What a sweet idea for a (and actual) poem! :)
ReplyDeleteAw what a cute little poem :)

I LOVE THIS POEM! bring more personal poetry to your blog, my love!
ReplyDeleteReally great Sara! I would suggest not sticking to the traditional sentences (eg. Movie Stub, Pressed / Flower. Page from a book) for a more unique cadence. Love it though :)

I totally do that. I have kept just about everything of a friend of mine that passed away. I also love to keep those little ticket stubs and things. I have binders to organize it all.
ReplyDeleteI also write random poems too. I really should document my poems but I also want them published and scared that if I post them on my blog that it might hinder me somehow.
Short and sweet with a lot of meaning :)
ReplyDeleteThanks!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you liked it! I don't know much about submitting poetry, but some places only want poetry that hasn't been seen anywhere else (ie. your blog).
ReplyDeleteThanks! Thanks for the construction criticism; I'll have to play around with it!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much!!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Kristin!
ReplyDeleteExactly! That's why I'm a fan of haikus! Thanks, Cee!
