Ipsy Glam Bag {Sepember 2014}

P.S. -- Check out my blog post on Bibliosmiles!

It's Ipsy time! This month's theme is street style, so that you can, I'm assuming, look like a cool bad ass. Well, I'm up for looking like a cool bad ass, so I was happy to try all of these products and for the most part I loved all of them, but read on for more details.

What I got:
Alterna Caviar CC Hair Perfector (full size $25, sample $8)
Crown Brush Duet Brush (full size $7)

This month's bag is worth $42!
MINI REVIEWS

Alterna Caviar CC Hair Perfector

To be honest, I only used it twice so far, but I really like it. It's a thick hair cream that's supposed to add moisture and shine while making your hair more manageable AKA get rid of frizz. It reminds me of Suave's Sleek Anti-Frizz cream. It has a nice subtle scent and a lot of this cream goes a long way. I would definitely consider purchasing this.

Pacifica Natural Minerals Waterproof Eyeliner in Gun Metal

I was a little hesitant at first to try this because I'm not much a metallic eyeliner girl, but pencil is more like a gray-silver. It's subtle enough to not be crazy, but it's still metallic and fun. It stays put all day and goes on smooth. I've been wearing a little bit under my bottom lashes.

Hikari Lipstick in Cabernet

Wow this lipstick! It's a gorgeous berry red color, it goes on very smooth, it's not drying at all (though I wouldn't call it very moisturizing), and it even turns into a bit of a stain, which I like. I would love to try out another color that this lipstick comes in.

Crown Brush Duet Brush

Though I wasn't over the moon at getting a brush, I do like that this is a double-sided one and that the synthetic fibers are super soft. It picks up a good amount of product.

Nourish Organic Moisturizing Cream Face Cleanser

I generally prefer foaming cleansers, but this moisturizing one is really nice. I think one that moisturizes is good for this transitioning weather since my skin gets dry when the seasons change. It makes my skin feel fresh and smooth afterwards and not tight, but despite the fact that it says fragrance-free I could detect a smell and I don't find it very pleasant. It is a very subtle scent, but I didn't like it. My mom however says that she thought it smelled nice, so you might like it, you might not.

  1. I gave up these subscription boxes a while back since I didn't feel I got any use out of the products I received but Ipsy interests me, they seem to have pretty good stuff! Love that berry lipstick, too bad it wasn't specifically moisturizing (need that!)

  3. So I am ridiculous and have been waiting for my next ipsy since I got my last one! I am definitely determined to use/gift all the things I get. And I've been using the little pouch as a brush bag inside my make-up bag. Not that I'm worried about ever finding a use for my cute little pouch (I can never have enough!)

My ipsy was pretty much entirely different than yours! But I got some really good nail polish and a full-sized mascara I've been using every day. That lipstick looks fantastic on you! I'm glad you've been able to experiment with the eyeliner too.

Next month I'm planning to do an ipsy vs. Birchbox post!

  4. Hey there! That color is so gorgeous on you! I've been so thinking about getting an Ipsy bag but haven't yet tried it.

BTW, you would be so into this series calling Wearing Lit http://www.lindsayhumes.com/category/non-fiction/

  5. That eyeliner is so pretty! It doesn't look too crazy and it'd be a softer look than a black eyeliner probably huh?

  6. Yeah, it's a nice color! Not too harsh and not too crazy that I can wear it to work!

  7. I absolutely love Ipsy! It's only $10 a month and you usually get full size or deluxe sized samples, so it's worth it. It's also really fun getting beauty products in the mail!

Thanks! I'm going to check it out!

  8. I heard that the nail polish was really good! I'm thinking of getting one myself! I've been using the bags for everything! I've been getting Ipsy for over a year, so I have quite the collection, though I gave a bunch to my mom!

  10. I definitely have my eye on that lipstick and the eyeliner. It's such a pretty color and I don't often stray away from black liner.

  11. girl, I painted my nails last Sunday I believe, and my manicure is STILL going strong. I mean, it's started to chip some, but still wearable. This nail polish rocks. I would buy it again.
