Six Falls Trends {2016}

Get excited because fall fashion is here! Cooler weather is on the way, so it's time to think about scarves, sweaters, and new trends. I can see myself wearing all of these chic and feminine trends and I already want more florals and cardigans (as if I need more).

ONE | DARK FLORALS
Dark Florals

Now this is a trend I can get behind! My love for florals runs deep, so I'm happy to see dark florals is a trend this fall. I wear florals regardless of whether it's "in," but now there are more options in store for me. The perfect trend for ladies with girly or bohemian or classic styles.

TWO | GRAY, PALE PINK & YELLOW
Gray, Pale Pink & Yellow
It seems spring is in this fall because popular colors right now are gray, pale dusty pink, and soft yellow. Mix your classic fall colors, like navy, burgundy, plum, and mustard, with these pretty and bright colors that are usually associated with fall. I'm especially in love with this pretty pale pink!

THREE | LONG CARDIGANS
Long Cardigans
Autumn means snuggly cardigans and I'm all for it. The snugglier the better! Long cardigans are big right now and they'll keep you warm all winter long. There's a long cardigan in every color that's perfect for every style, so you're sure to find one that suits you.

FOUR | BOMBER JACKETS
Bomber Jackets
If cardigans aren't your thing, then check out bomber jackets. Whether you want one that's silky or quilted or patched or floral or looks like a letterman jacket, there's one for you. They'll keep you warm and make you look cool.

FIVE | PLAID
Plaid
Plaid is in style every year, but can you blame it? Plaid is a classic and everyone loves it. It also comes in many different iterations from classic plaid to big plaid to windowpane and even houndstooth. My favorite plaid scarf is just waiting to be worn!

SIX | JUMPSUITS
Jumpsuits
I wasn't in love with this trend at first, but it's definitely grown on me. These ones are super chic, feminine, and a touch professional, and I'm on the hunt for the perfect one that I can wear to work and on the weekends.

Five Spring Fashion Trends {2016}

It's hard to look forward to spring when this winter has barely even felt like winter, but of course I'm still looking forward to wearing fewer layers, eating outdoors, and seeing pretty flowers everywhere.

The fashion trends this spring are super feminine and pretty and I want to wear all of them! I've already moved my striped shirts to the top of my blouse drawer and I'm itching to get some cute lace tops and lace-up flats.

ONE | Stripes
Stripes

Every girl should have a striped top or two! I still prefer polka dots and florals, but stripes are a classic that everyone should have because they go with everything. It would be fun to mix a striped top with jeans and bright sneakers for a casual look or a lace top with a striped skirt and heels for a romantic night.

TWO | Lace & Lingerie-Inspired
Lace & Lingerie-Inspired
Warmer weather means you can wear lace without freezing your limbs off, so show off your sexy side with lingerie-inspired clothing. Lace is the perfect mix of old-fashioned and modern. For date night, wear a lace dress with lace-up heels. For the office or the weekend, throw on a lace top, jeans, and flats.

THREE | Off-The-Shoulder Tops
Off The Shoulder
I'm not sure if this style is really for me and my manly shoulders, but I do think the style is really fun and feminine. I love the mint dress! If you have a bohemian style, the white embroidered top with jeans or a flowy skirt and sandals would be cute. Or mix trends by wearing a striped off-the-shoulder top and black pants.

FOUR | Sportswear
Sportswear
Now being a sweaty mess after going to the gym is in style! Or you can pretend that you went to gym without all of that gross sweatiness! Mix a casual striped top with gray joggers and sneakers. Or have fun with it by wearing an off-the-shoulder black top with marble leggings and flats.

FIVE | Lace-Up Shoes
Lace-Up Shoes
How pretty are these shoes?! I'm so in love with those brown lace-up heels, but sadly the heel looks too high for me. These are the kind of shoes that do all of the work for you of making you look like you care when really you just threw on whatever and ran out the door. And there are so many styles out there, so win-win!

P.S. -- Mix these trends with the cute fall trends!

Five Fall Fashion Trends {2015}

Hello autumn! Yes, it's not technically not fall yet, but a girl can dream. I'm really over all of this hot weather. I want to wear layers and stomp around in booties and throw on a cute scarf. Who's with me?

I'm all about the trends this year. Seriously, I love all of them and will wear all of these at some point during the upcoming season. I'm not much of a sneaker girl and I wouldn't call my style minimalist, but I can be swayed by cute sneakers and a classic black dress.

ONE | CARDIGAN COATS
Cardigan Coats

My favorite! I'm a little a lot obsessed with cardigans, so I'm looking forward to taking out my biggest, snuggliest cardigans and wearing them like a blanket. That gray one is currently on my wishlist. There are cardigans for every style out there: classic, feminine, and preppy. Mix a gray cardigan with distressed jeans and bright sneakers, or wear a mustard cardigan with a navy dress and ankle booties.

TWO | FEMININE BIKER
Feminine Biker
Who says a biker chick can't be girly and feminine? This trend is all about colorful motorcycle jackets, booties, and ripped denim. I'm kind of in love with that pastel blue jacket. Think this style isn't for you? Try wearing distressed jeans with a striped top for a preppy style, or a pale pink moto jacket with an off-the-shoulder black dress for a classic style.

THREE | MINIMALIST
Minimalist
Minimalist doesn't have to mean boring or basic. Go for simple but chic pieces that have a little oomph, like a white blouse with a black collar or a lace peplum top or ankle-strap ballet flats. Throw on a burgundy dress with a belt and a gold leaf headband, or a white blouse, black skirt, and blue printed sneakers.

FOUR | BRIGHT SNEAKERS
Bright Sneakers
Well, it seems that sneakers are no longer just reserved for the gym. Because, honestly, these colorful sneakers are too fun to be worn in only one place. Wear them with jeans and a top, wear them with dresses, or wear them with your work out clothes because they go with everything. But maybe don't wear them to a cocktail party.

FIVE | FROST YOURSELF
Frost Yourself
I absolutely had to call this set frost yourself! Anyone else know the movie it's from? This trend is all about darling accessories and things that make you sparkle: ear jackets, necklaces, headbands, and hair pins. Scared to delve into the sparkle? Start with a colorful bow or jeweled hair pins. Or dive into the deep end with a gold headband or gem ear jackets.

Trends from spring that are still in: prints, '70s, and pointed flats.
Trends from last fall that are still in: gray, midi skirts, and outdoorsy.

Which trends will you be wearing?

Five Spring Fashion Trends {2015}

Who's ready for spring? I am, I am! This seems to be the winter that never ends. I've lost count of how many times it's snowed and I can't remember the last time I saw the sun (kidding). But seriously, I just want to go outside without a jacket, hat, scarf, gloves, and boots. Come on, spring!

ONE | UNIQUE PRINTS
Unique Prints

Unique prints have been popular for a while now, but with warmer weather coming you can make it the focus of your outfit. Go crazy and have fun by wearing heart prints, dramatic florals, animal prints (both leopard and actual animals on your clothing), and more. Mix two prints together, like a keys print shirt with gingham pants, or wear a feminine outfit of a heart print skirt with a sheer blouse.

TWO | GINGHAM
Gingham
Gingham is like plaid's friendlier, girlier cousin and it's perfect for spring and summer. It's eye-catching and works for a lot of styles; it's not just for preppy girls anymore. Try pairing it with florals for a feminine look, or wear a gingham top with wide leg jeans and nude pointed toe flats for a casual look, or a sheer black blouse tucked into gingham pants for a cool outfit.

THREE | BACK TO THE 70s
Back to the 70s
While 60s-inspired styles are still popular, the 70s now seem to be trumping it. Think fringe, suede, wide leg jeans, wedges, and dramatic sunglasses. While this 70s trend seems to be tailored to those with a bohemian flair, don't be afraid to try it out: wide leg jeans works with every style, a brightly-colored suede skirt pairs nicely with a printed top or a sheer blouse, or throw on a floral kimono with a white tee, skinny jeans, and red pointed toe flats.

FOUR | SHEER
Sheer
Sheer clothing is perfect for those who work in an office (if you don't go overboard with it). For the office, try a solid or printed sheer blouse with tailored pants and pointed toe flats, or a skirt with some extra sheer lace at the bottom with a floral print top. Or if you want to dip into the style you could try a transparent scarf in a bright color or see-through flats.

FIVE | POINTED TOE FLATS
Flats Toe Flats
Pointed toe flats are everywhere right now and there are so many different styles that you're sure to find one or five that you love. Want something understated? Try a nude or black one. Want something fun? Wear a bright color or or studs. How about something feminine? Get flats with a bow or florals.

P.S. -- All of last year's spring trends still popular!

Which trends will you be incorporating into your style?

Inspired By: Pantone's Color of the Year {Marsala}

So long Radiant Orchid, hello Marsala. Marsala is an intriguing color. At first I was like...meh. It's an earthy brown-wine color, but it started to grow on me. While I wouldn't call it a pretty color, it could definitely be a new neutral, like navy or gray, but with more of a pop to it. Pantone calls Marsala "a naturally robust and earthy wine red" that "enriches our minds, bodies and souls." I like that it's similar to burgundy, but more rustic.

Dresses
Marsala -- Dresses

Since Marsala is a deep color it works well for dresses this time of year. It's moody but still fun. The first outfit would be perfect for a date or a casual office; pair a lace dress with a navy scarf, a navy ring, and dark brown buckle booties. Or for a party don a more fitted dress, Marsala lipstick, sparkly cuff, black tights, and black heels.

Tops
Marsala -- Tops
Make Marsala a new neutral by pairing it with bright, summery colors, like yellow and pink. Go casual in an open cardigan, bright yellow blouse, sky blue earrings, jeans, and yellow flats. Or wear something super girly and cute: a Marsala top, light pink necklace, floral skirt, rose ring, and pink heels.

Outerwear
Marsala -- Outerwear
Stand out from the crowd by wearing a Marsala-colored coat while everyone else is wearing black, gray, and navy. For a day running errands or hanging out with friends put on a gray sweater, distressed jeans, arrow ring, and striped sneakers. Or wear a loose coat, faux-leather dress, gold cuffs, and black and leopard print wedges to the office.

Accessories
Marsala -- Accessories
Do you like Marsala, but want to test the waters first? Wearing shoes or a handbag in the color is the perfect way to spice up your next outfit. Mix up two interesting colors: sky blue and Marsala. Wear a striped cardigan, blue lace dress, tights, and booties. Or wear something more urban: a big gray sweater, a light blue t-shirt, black jeans, a backpack, and sneakers.

Do you like Marsala?
Have you bought anything in the color?

Outfit: Oxfords & Roses

This is the outfit I wore on an unseasonably warm day two weekends back. I threw on this new dress that I got from Poshmark, a lightweight cardigan, and my new oxford flats. After posting about oxfords, I had to get a pair of my own. I actually had a pair two years ago that were pink and white, but had to get rid of them since they very worn out. I like this new pair because they're the classic brown, but updated because of the cutouts and and bits of scalloping. Yep, it's love.

I got a new camera remote, which makes me really happy because the old one constantly needed a new battery and only worked until 6 feet away, which is not far enough for the 50mm lens. My new remote's battery should last 2 years and can go up to 16 feet. Thank the gods of Westeros!

I would also like to find my perfect pair (I'm thinking of getting the taupe pair in the bottom left corner), so here are some options for you! There are so many kinds of oxford flats (metallic, printed, black, brown, bright colors, etc.) that you're sure to find something that suits your style.

Since a few of you have asked: To shop the shoes below, just click the picture (or the link that says "Oxford Flats") and it will take you to Polyvore, and from there it will take you to the corresponding website that the shoes are from. Happy shopping!

Inspiration: Oxford Flats

I have a pair of black oxford heels that I love and I can't wait to bring them back out from the depths of my closet this fall, but lately I've been liking the look of oxford flats. They look masculine and tomboyish, but in a fun print, like leopard, or in a metallic shade they feel feminine and modern. I love the ones that have a bright sole, too.

Inspiration: Gray Everything

Last year, burgundy (or oxblood) and emerald were the big colors of fall, but this year gray is taking over. Gray is the new black because it's this season's popular neutral. I've always liked gray because it goes with all colors, there are so many shades of gray, and it's not as dark as black. This color can be worn any and all ways and for all styles. I'm sure you'll see gray popping up everywhere once it gets cooler.

I think a cute pair of gray flats would be a nice addition for my closet. Will you be wearing gray? How will you be wearing it?

Five Fall Fashion Trends {2014}

Fall already? It still feels like summer here in New York, but it will be autumn soon. Raise your hand if you're ready for cooler weather and seeing the leaves change color? You can count me in!

There are a bunch of fun trends for fall and they are all so wildly different that you'll all be able to find at least one that works with your style. I myself am looking forward to wearing more prints, pulling out my gray clothing, and looking a little outdoorsy.

ONE | Prints, Prints, Prints
Prints

Do you like wearing prints? Well, you're in luck because prints -- all types of prints -- are big this fall. Stripes, florals, geometric prints, animal prints, etc. Keep wearing your floral summer dresses into the fall by pairing them with a cozy gray sweater or a plaid shirt. Have fun it by wearing florals with stripes, or animal prints with geometric prints. Go crazy!

TWO | Gray Everything
Gray Everything
After a summer of bright colors, it's time to get moody. Gray has been really popular lately because it's a cool neutral that works with every clothing style and every color of the rainbow. Wear it with radiant orchid to lighten it up, with a bold print, make it classy with a midi skirt, or have fun by wearing it with a pastel 60s-inspired dress.

THREE| Midi Skirts
Midi Skirts
These bold skirts were popular in the spring and summer, and will remain a huge trend. There are so many midi skirt styles out there right now (A-line, pleated, printed, pencil) that you definitely be able to find something that works for you. The longer length is great for the cooler weather approaching. These ladylike skirts work perfectly with a 60s-inspired colorblock top, or wear it with a faux-fur vest, or a printed blouse.

FOUR | Outdoorsy Chic
Outdoorsy Chic
Have you always wanted to dress like a mountain man? Then this is the trend for you! All kidding aside, this outdoorsy chic trend is great for fall because it's all about layering and wearing plaid, fleece, faux fur, and woodsy colors (like brown, burgundy, orange, and green). I think it would be interesting to mix this trend with some pastels or dark florals.

FIVE | Bringing Back the 60's
60s
First the 90's and now the 60's! If you love the mod style, then get ready to wear lots of mini skirts, colorblocking, and fit and flare dresses. But there's a twist: this style may be having a resurgence, but in soft pastel shades that are usually reserved for spring. Wear a pastel mini skirt with a gray sweater if you have a girly style, or a colorblocked dress with a vest to make it a little more outdoorsy.

Trends still in: boyfriend jeans, sporty, pastels!
