Pantone's Color of the Year is Radiant Orchid! While I loved last year's color, emerald, you all know I love any and all shades of purple. Pantone says this hue "blooms with confidence and magical warmth that intrigues the eye and sparks the imagination." It's "expressive, creative, and embracing." Sounds like a color I want to surround myself with!
Dresses
This color is so feminine, so of course it's easy to make feminine outfits featuring the color. In the first outfit, which is perfect for the office or a date, wear a purple and black lace dress with a flower necklace, stacked bracelets, and black wedges. Or for a more casual but still girly look, you could wear a navy striped sweater, printed purple skirt, floral scarf, and navy flats.
Jeans
Radiant Orchid is a lady-like color, but you don't have to have a girly style or wear it in a feminine way to pull it off. Here are two ways to wear it with jeans: First try a printed jeans with a gray cardigan and white tee with gray flats. Or wear a black jacket, beige sweater, purple jeans, and nude flats.
If you to stand out among all the people wearing black and navy coats, then wearing a Radiant Orchid coat is a great way to go. You can wear it with any outfit and feel like you're in on the trend. If you like to wear all black, go for a purple blazer, black dress, and black boots. Or wear a purple coat, striped top, gold bracelet, jeans, and navy flats.
Accessories
If you just want to dabble in this trend, having a few accessories in this purple-pink color is the perfect way to do it. A Radiant Orchid-colored shoe or handbag punches up any outfit. First, you could wear a black blazer, gray dress, pretty earrings, and purple booties. Or you could incorporate last year's color and this year's color in one outfit: don a white blouse, emerald skirt, and purple flats.

I absolutely love this colour, but I can't picture myself wearing it. I think it'd make a great accent colour in home decor. But maybe I'll have to pick up an orchid nail polish to commemorate the colour of the year. ;)
ReplyDeleteThis color is so pretty but I don't own a single purple piece in my wardrobe! I don't know why, but it's never been a color I've gravitated towards.

The color itself is gorgeous I have decided but last year emerald was supposed to be the main color and I barely saw anything emerald. That made me sad since it's one of my favorite colors too!

Even though purple is my favorite color, I seem to own no clothing in the color! I could definitely use some of these purple accessories in my closet though :) Happy 2014!!

I have to admit, I never get too excited about the colour of the year - while I almost always think the colours are pretty, and I do this year for sure, I rarely find that they're shades I want to wear. The looks you put together with radiant orchid are all wonderful, but I think they will suit someone else better than me :)

This makes me want to go buy some orchid colored clothes :)
