Watch | Read | Listen {April 2016}

The one movie I NEED to see this month is The Huntsman: Winter's War. I'm a big fan of fairytale retellings (The Lunar Chronicles, A Court of Thorns and Roses, etc.) and Charlize Theron and Emily Blunt and awesome cinematic sorcery, so I'm counting down the days until I can see it on the big screen.

I'm also looking forward to getting my hands on The Rose and The Dagger by Renee Ahdieh. It's the second book in the duology based on A Thousand and One Nights. The first book was beautifully written story about a girl at odds with her heart.

MOVIES

Ki & Ka
A love story between a man (Arjun Kapoor) who wants to build a home and a woman (Kareena Kapoor) who wants to build her career. The film is about showing that regardless of their roles, people are people, and problems are the same no matter what gender you are. {Watch the trailer} I love foreign films, particularly Indian ones! They're so much fun to watch! (April 1)

Temps
Jefferson (Grant Rosenmeyer) is a temp worker and is only career goal is to afford an annual ski trip with his best friend and fellow temp, Curtis (Reid Ewing). When Jefferson falls for his co-worker Stephanie (Lindsey Shaw), he is forced to reevaluate his minimum commitment lifestyle. {Watch the trailer} I love Lindsey Shaw! Does anyone else remember the TV show 10 Things I Hate About You? She was in that and I adored that show. (April 8)

The Jungle Book
A new live-action adventure based on the classic story about Mowgli (Neel Sethi), a man-cub raised in the jungle by a family of wolves who embarks on a journey of self-discovery when he's forced to abandon the only home he's ever known. {Watch the trailer} This film looks breathtakingly beautiful and emotional. (April 15)

The Huntsman: Winter's War
A prequel to Snow White and The Huntsman, this is the story of evil Queen Ravenna (Charlize Theron) who betrays her good sister Freya (Emily Blunt) in order to stay the most beautiful woman in the kingdom, but in doing so she unleashes her sister's powerful icy magic. A war of domination begins between the two sisters with the Huntsman (Chris Hemsworth) tasked to stop Queen Ravenna. {Watch the trailer} So excited to see this! It looks incredible! (April 22)
