Outfit: Office Florals

Florals are an easy print for the weekend, but I love wearing it to the office as well! Large or small flowery prints on a dark background, like black or navy, is perfect for work. Matching the colors in the floral print to my shirt (or skirt or pants or shoes) makes me feel put-together and professional. I even matched my lipstick! #adulting

My bestie's wedding is THIS WEEKEND!!! I drove down to D.C. two weeks ago for Jacquie's bachelorette party and now I'm driving down again this Friday for the rehearsal dinner and of course the big day! We've been friends for twenty years, so I'm crazy excited for her! Love ya, Jax!

Books For Food Lovers

Food is an essential part of our lives and sometimes it's an essential part of a character's life, too. I don't know about you, but I love reading about food, especially when it's written really, really well and makes me wish I could eat the food being described right that instant. There are tarts in Heartless, fragrant foreign delicacies in The Forbidden Wish, and of course butterbeer in Harry Potter.
The Adventures of Cinnamon Girl by Melissa Kell
Heartless by Marissa Meyer
My Lady Jane by Cynthia Hand, Brodi Ashton & Jodi Meadows
The Forbidden Wish by Jessica Khoury
Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell
The Girl From Everywhere by Heidi Heilig
Cinnamon and Gunpowder by Eli Brown
Love Charms and other Catastrophes by Kimberly Karalius
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone by J.K. Rowling

Which of these have you read?

Inspired By: Wonder Woman

I literally CANNOT wait until Wonder Woman! While D.C. tends to disappoint wth their movies (sorry, I'm more a Marvel girl), I am so pumped for this movie! I really, really hope it does well in the box office so that we get more female-centric superhero movies and I hope that one of those is Kamala Kahn AKA Kamala Kahn. She's one of my favorites!

Wonder Woman opens in the U.S. on June 2nd, but I just had to share some outfits now because I was too excited to wait!

Diana Prince AKA Wonder Woman
Wonder Woman
Amazon princess Diana (Gal Gadot) is a strong and intelligent immortal warrior who finds Steve Trevor washed ashore the island of Themyscira. She travels to World War I London in order to help stop the war and fight evil.

For a subtle, updated version of Wonder Woman's classic outfit wear a green jacket, a red tank, embroidered black jeans, a brown bag, and metallic sneakers. Or for a decidedly Amazonian outfit put on a red, yellow, and blue jacket, metallic tank, ombre blue skirt, and gladiator sandals.

Steve Trevor
Steve Trevor
Steve (Chris Pine) is a captain in the U.S. Army Air Service who is rogue-ish and cynical but who is also charming. He enlists the help of Diana to stop World War I and finds that there's a lot more to her than meets the eye.

For a feminine take on his uniform, put on a green patched jacket, gray asymmetrical shirt, jeans, a newsboy cap, and navy lace-up boots. Or throw it back to 1917 with a gray jacket, a chambray shirt, map watch, green trousers, and gray sneakers.

Etta Candy
Etta Candy
Etta (Lucy Davis) is Steve's loyal, friendly, and comical secretary who immediately befriends Diana while she travels to London.

If black is your color throw on a black blazer, dress, wide brim hat, and lace-up boots with rose earrings, and a brown watch. Or wear a floral print dress, navy jacket, orange bag, and off white ankle-strap flats.

Are you looking forward to Wonder Woman?

Outfit: Just & Loyal

Is it weird that this outfit feels VERY Hufflepuff-like? It's obviously got the yellow and black, but something about the added foresty green jacket and the loose top gives it that "just and loyal" feel. I mean, the Hufflepuff Common Room is super cozy with squishy chairs and has plants all over. Who wouldn't want to hang out there?

Sorry I've been a bad blogger lately! This has been the busiest month of my life between my friend's bachelorette party (and wedding in two weeks!), three work events in three weeks, and meeting an amazing guy, so I'm just enjoying life right now and blogging when I have the time and motivation.

Outfit: Pink Sneakers

I have a new favorite pair of sneakers! Remember the gray rhinestone ones I wore two weeks back? Well, they KILLED my feet and I still have the blisters to prove it, so sadly I had to stop wearing them, but instead I got these lovely pink quilted ones from Amazon and they're SO comfy! Seriously, I never want to take them off. So if you're looking for cute sneakers, grab a pair of these.

As with every spring season, the florals are back in full swing, both in nature and on my clothes!

Watch | Read | Listen {May 2017}

It's May! That means flowers springing up, warm weather, and my best friend's wedding! Let's do this! I've already seen the new Guardians movie and it was hilarious. The next on my list is the latest Pirates of the Caribbean movie. I'm a sucker for those. What do you want to see and read this month?

MOVIES

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2
The gang is back for another kick-ass space adventure with lots of action, humor, and heart. Old foes are back as allies and now there's a new unexpected villain. I've already seen it and I LOVED IT! (May 5)

King Arthur: Legend of the Sword
Guy Ritchie brings his dynamic style to epic fantasy action adventure. Tracing Arthur's (Charlie Hunnm) journey from the streets to the throne after his father is murdered, Vortigen (Jude Law), Arthur's uncle, seizes the crown from him. It's only when Arthur pulls the sword from stone that his life begins to change. I have to say this looks really intense! (May 12)

Everything, Everything
Based on the novel by Nicola Yoon; Madeline, a teenage girl (Amanda Stenberg) who lives her life stuck indoors because of her immunodeficiency. When a boy named Olly (Nick Robinson) moves in next store, they develop a friendship and message each other back and forth, but Maddy wants to leave her house and see the ocean. I NEED to read this book before the movie comes out! I hear it's really good! (May 19)

Baywatch
A reimagined Baywatch follows devoted lifeguard Mitch Buchannon (Dwayne Johnson) as he butts heads with a brash new recruit (Zach Efron). Together they uncover a local criminal plot that threatened the future of the Bay. Who else thinks this looks hilarious?! (May 26)

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Lies
Johnny Depp is back as everyone's favorite pirate! The latest adventure finds down-on-his-luck Captain Jack feeling the winds of ill-fortune blowing his way when deadly ghost sailors, led by the terrifying Captain Salazar (Javiar Bardem), escape from the Devil's Triangle bent on killing every pirate at sea--especially Jack. These movies are so much fun and I need to see it! (May 26)

Outfit: Little Teacups

How perfect is this teacup print dress for a tea party?! I wore this outfit to my friend Jacquie's tea party-themed bridal shower last weekend. We all wore cute hats and drank tea (peach and mango and guava!) and ate little sandwiches. And of course played the How Well Does the Bride Know the Groom Game and made wedding dresses out of toilet paper because no bridal shower is complete without that.

If you're looking for all-natural vegan make up that's inexpensive I would 100% recommend Glory Boon! All of the products are made in Connecticut by my friend Alexandra and they're all fantastic. The colors are pigmented and vibrant and well-made. I recently got the mineral lipstick in Heather and the Mermaid Lagoon highlighter, and she very kindly sent me the Beach Bum lip tint too. I am obsessed with the highlighter especially! It's so gorgeous!
