DIY: The Case is Clear

I love this DIY tutorial from Love Maegan, in which she uses a clear case for her iPhone and a few simple things that she has handy. It's such a great idea for people who are constantly changing their mind about what look they want and don't want/can't afford to keep buying new cases.

Maegan says that she likes "the mirrored glass effect it stimulates around the edges."

I agree!

First idea: to put a peacock feather (or any type of feather) between the iPhone and the case.

So simple, but such a great idea! 

Second idea: to use pretty paper or fabric.

Just trace around your phone, cut it out, and you're all set!

Third idea (and Maegan's favorite): to use a picture you took.

It's completely original and personal. No one else will have your case!

This year I have a goal to read 25 books. It may seem like a lot (or not, if you read more than I do), but with the many books I read for grad school, the ones I read for pleasure are considerably less. I'm usually very good at reading more than one book at a time, but last year I didn't dedicate much time to immersing myself in fictional worlds. This year I want to change that.

In fact, in the first two and half weeks of the year I've already read two and half books! (You can check which ones in my Library tab.)

Beauty and the Beast 3D

Today I'm going to see Beauty and the Beast in 3D with my best friend, Jackie. I can't wait! This has always been one of my favorite animated Disney Princess movies for two reasons:

1. Belle was always my favorite because she likes to read, she's brave, sure of herself, and she's not looking for her Prince Charming to sweep her off her feet.

2. The Beast is one of the only early animated men that is actually fleshed out. Snow White, Princess Aurora, Cinderella, and Ariel all end up with men that just seem to be there so that the women have someone to marry before the closing credits. To me, it seems like Beauty and the Beast was the one that changed all that. Afterwards, came Aladdin, John Smith, Li Shang, and Prince Naveen, who are all very realistic characters and not just someone to marry.

Anyway, since I'm so excited to see the movie in theatres (I was too young to see it the first time around), I thought I would show some concept art from the film.

The last isn't concept art, I just like the picture.
