What Kind of Energy Do You Bring to a Room?

I had an interesting conversation with my friend Brittany a really long time ago (January, I think), but it's been stuck in my head ever since. She told me about an article she read where the person talked about the energy you bring into a space. When I was searching online, I found this blog post; apparently the concept was mentioned on Oprah but originates from Jill Nolte Taylor's book My Stroke of Insight.

Anyway, it's an interesting concept to think about: If there were a group of people in a room and you walked in what sort of energy would you bring to the room? In essence, how do you make others feel?

It's a great question to ask yourself and then an honest friend. What kind of energy do you think you bring to a room? What kind do you want to bring to a room? And then what of energy do you actually bring?

In the back of my mind, while Brittany and I were talking, I was hoping she would say that my energy is friendly and warm, and that I make her feel accepted. Luckily, she said exactly what I hoped she would!

  2. That's really interesting! I bring better energy when I write/blog (attracting others) than I do in person. HaHaHa It's really weird.

  3. So true. I saw a quote on pinterest that I loved, " Please take responsibility for the energy that you bring into this space". I think it was a decorative sign or something. I def know a few people who bring a lot of anxiety into every situation just with their presence. I wonder what people would say about me? Def something to think about.

  4. Great blog post! In all honesty I think it depends on the mood I'm in. If it's hot out and I'm hungry a.k.a. 'hangry' (hungry + angry) I'd probably bring in a bad energy, but if I was my usual cool/feed self I'd probably bring in some sunshine with my loud laugh my and goofy demeanor.

  5. I think about this whole idea quite a lot and often try and remind myself to make sure I bring the best energy I can into a space.

  6. I know only the energy of my lovely husband - he´s so charismatic and he fills every room when he enters ...

And I´m sure that your energy is absolutely friendly and warm :)

  10. What an interesting concept... when I read the first paragraph of your post, I immediately thought of a few people I've known over the years who have brought negative energy and how it can actually make conversation go cold when they enter a room! When it happens you never really think too much about it but that unconscious attitude people have really does impact others around them. I hope that mine is positive...!
