As a part of the Preview to Summer: A Blogger Book Swap, we're all talking about our top three favorite books and linking up on I Believe In Story (if you want to see other people's top three).
ONE | Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban by J.K. Rowling
My first love will always be the Harry Potter books because they're what made me want to get into writing in the first place. However, my favorite of all of them is Prisoner of Azkaban; I love the suspense in this one, the betrayal, the time travel, that Hermione punches Malfoy in the face, and that no matter how many times I read it, I want to read it again.
TWO | Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
I was never into romance until one day I saw the 2005 Pride & Prejudice movie and then immediately had to read the book. I started it that night and fell in love with these wonderful, strong-willed characters and the romantic story. I think the novel gets better the more I read it because every time I notice something different and get better at deciphering the language.
THREE | The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern
Granted I just finished reading this, but I absolutely loved it. The story is so unique and captivating, the characters make you want to root for them, the circus setting is just plain awesome, and the writing is vivid and lovely and just as magical as the story. I can't wait to read it again in the future.
What are your top three favorite novels?
Great choices! I've only heard AMAZING things of Night Circus, and I keep putting off reading it... But I think it's time to get to it!
ReplyDeleteAzkaban was a great HP novel. I think that one came out when I finally really started getting into the series (like more than just 'oh cool a wizard!' type of thing) and I loved how the plot really developed in that one.
Excellent choices!
You should read it! It's fantastic!
DeleteLike Melissa, I've also heard great things and rave reviews for The Night Circus and despite owning a copy, have yet to read it. I'm slowly but surely checking off my "to-read list." Azkaban is my favorite HP book because of the relationship he develops with Sirius, but I love the whole series. I have always wanted to read Pride and Prejudice and have copy (can you see a trend here lol) but haven't read it. I'm almost certain I have two tangible copies and an eBook one but I will get to it! I love the movie adaptation with Keira Knightley so much. Plus, I love Jane Austen anything :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing and welcome to Preview to Summer!
Bobbi from Today, I´m Bobbi told me The Night Circus is amongst her favorite book and it´s on my reading list for quite some time!

DeleteThe Night Circus is one of my recent favourites. I was reluctant to put it on my list because I only read it last year, but that book is definitely magical.
ReplyDeleteSo true!
DeleteI love anything and everything Jane Austen...Pride &Prejudice is my 2nd favorite book of her. I have never read any of the Harry Potter thou, but love all the movies :)
ReplyDeleteJane Austen is the best!
DeleteYES! to Harry Potter, obviously! :)
ReplyDeleteI liked "The Night Circus" for the amazing setting. But I was underwhelmed...maybe because of they hype? But I definitely still quite liked it!
Yeah I can understand that. I thought the Hunger Games was a little over-hyped as well!
DeleteWe all love Harry, don't we. I think I've seen hem on everybody's list :)
ReplyDeleteI've never read the night circus, I've actually never heard of it. But looks good, so I'm reading that one.
I can't wait to see how I'm swapping with :)

ReplyDelete<3 katherine / of corgis & cocktails
That's okay! The language can be tough to get through! It was for me at first!
DeletePrisoner of Azkaban was definitely one of my favorites, it was really hard for me to chose!
ReplyDeleteMe too!
DeleteI love Jane austen's pride and prejudice, Charles Dicken's Oliver Twist and Great Expectations(I hope that counts for 1) and Shakespeare Twelfth Night or What you will. I used to enjoy reading Enid Blyton while growing up and the Harry Potter books remind me of her except the difference is quite obvious. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat favorite classic books!!
