As a kid of the 90's, I love anything Disney, and that means Disney Princesses. I saw all of the movies growing up, even the classics (like Cinderella), and when the newer ones came out (like Tangled) you can bet I was in the theater as glued to the screen as the six-year-old girl next me. And when a Disney movie is on TV, I'm most likely watching it. Yep, I'm a Disney fan through and through.
Ariel
Ariel from The Little Mermaid is a 16-year-old mermaid princess, who is dissatisfied with life under the sea and is curious about the human world. One night, she and Flounder, her fish friend, swim to the surface and Ariel falls in love with Prince Eric, and she yearns to be part of the human world. Since Ariel is young and sassy, her style is fun, flirty, and full of bright colors.
Dress like Ariel while under the sea by wearing a floral crown, sheer purple shirt, black bandeau, green jeans, and black oxfords. Or if you're on land, wear bright pink blazer, light pink dress, jewel headband, and cut out sandals.
Aurora
Aurora from Sleeping Beauty is a beautiful young woman who is kept away from all people, except for the three fairies, and all spinning wheels because of an evil prophecy which says that if she pricks her finger she will fall into a sleep that only true love's kiss can break. Aurora has a classic, feminine style, so stick to collared shirts, pleated skirts, and soft colors.
To dress like Aurora go for a black and white look: collared blouse, pleated skirt, bow headband, and mary jane wedges. For a princess-y look, wear a colorblocked pink dress, flower necklace, metal headband for a crown, and pretty heels.
Belle
Belle from Beauty and the Beast is a young woman, who loves to read; she seeks adventure and a life beyond her small village. When her inventor father gets lost, he seeks shelter in a dark castle, where he is imprisoned by the Beast. However, Belle finds her way there and offers to take her father's place. Since all Belle really needs is a book to make her happy, her style is feminine but simple, so try sold-colored clothing with hints of embellishment, like buttons, pleating, and ruffles.
Dress like Belle by wearing a white blouse, blue pleated skirt, brown belt, brown flats, and a bow in your hair. For a fancy occassion, slip on a bright yellow dress, spiked heels (because she's tough when she needs to be), and rose jewelry for the enchanted rose Belle finds in the castle.
Cinderella
Cinderella from the film Cinderella is a kind, hardworking young woman who is forced to do chores for her stepmother and stepsisters after her father dies. When an invitation to a ball for Prince Charming arrives for all the eligible young ladies, Cinderella is determined to go, but it thwarted by her stepsisters until her Fairy Godmother arrives. Cinderella has a classic and simple style, so stick to fit and flare style dresses in shades of blue.
While on the go, wear a subtle printed dress with a chambray shirt underneath, a watch to remember the time, and brown flats. If you're going to a ball to meet your prince, try a pretty blue dress, bow headband, silver necklace, and sparkly shoes that shine likes glass.
Jasmine
Jasmine from Aladdin is an out-spoken young princess bored with life at the palace, so one day she slips out and wanders the marketplace, which is where she meets Aladdin, a street rat with whom she discovers she has a lot in common. Her father wants her to find a suitable husband, so Aladdin pretends to be a prince, though Jasmine has no idea. Jasmine's style is decadent because she wears flowing fabrics and lots of jewelry.
As an undercover princess, wear a black sleeved crop top with a seafoam green chiffon skirt, gold hair cuff, gold necklace and earrings, and black sandals. Or for meeting with suitors, slip on an off-the-shoulder green dress, blue and green gem necklace, black wedges, and a tiger ring since her best friend is a tiger named Rajah.
